Hey folks!
Long time no Drawed. I maintain that Dixie Kong’s original design looks like she walked of the set of the goddamned Cosby Show, so I thought I’d try and modernize her a little. I’m not sure I was entirely successful…she’s like a female Diddy Kong here. I would keep the new shirt (because seriously, who ties their shirt in a knot like that anymore?) and play with hat ideas more. I did give her a sideways hat but…I’m not sure how I feel about that either!

Donkey Kong 2 Redraw Challenge. Digital, 2020.
I finally beat one of my favorite games from my youth. It’s short?! Anyways, to celebrate I participated in the redraw challenge that someone was hosting on twitter. Here’s the original piece to compare.
I cheated on the background because this was a one day project that I really got into and now its late. I’ll update it if I get around to actually making the background ha ha. For now, enjoy their expressions.

Trivia: This game’s Grant Kirkhope’s debut. Granted It’s all David Wise’s music. But these chiptunes are great for what they are. Only two years apart before his magnum opus Banjo-Kazooie and three years until the more relevant: Donkey Kong 64.
