Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro is in hospital after suffering a stroke. She is said to be conscious and stable after being admitted earlier this morning.

The reports in Mais Futebol claim she was admitted to Dr Nelio Mendonca Hospital.

And Aveiro is set to undergo tests over the next few hours to determine the extent of the problems following the stroke.

Just last year Ronaldo’s Mum revealed she was fighting a new breast cancer problem after beating it back in 2007.

I was operated on another breast in Madrid, I’ve had radiotherapy and now I’m fighting for my life,” she said to Portuguese TV at the time.
