So today everyone was playing Pokémon Go even if it hasn’t been released yet (the lure spot was crowded), I took over my first gym with a CP500 Vaporeon and met about 1834740 Drowzees during my 20500 step long hunting sessions. I can’t get over how much I’ve been walking since yesterday

#096 Drowzee / #097 Hypno
Drowzee is based on the baku, a Japanese folkloric being known for eating dreams. Baku is also the Japanese name of the Malayan tapir, the animal that inspired the two-tone body coloration of original Drowzee’s.
We change things up a bit by giving Drowzee the markings of a juvenile Malayan tapir, and adding some dreamy cloud swirls.
Hypno then becomes the fully realized baku, with markings that combine those of the adult Malayan tapir with the stripes of a baku’s tiger paws. It used its swirly tail as a pendulum instead of a coin!
