honestly i have thoughts about this scene and most of them give me physical stomach pain because the thing about scrooge and donnie being on good terms is that you then have to consider when he called him useless for the first time and whether it was overheard or to his face
standard scenario but
a) look at baby duckling donnie turn the situation around from “i’m being taught the business” to “i’m out on a walk in the park with my uncle and he bought me ice cream” like i’ll bet you anything he’s the one who grabbed his hand too
b) at what point did scrooge stop tolerating that kind of thing as a childish whim? when did he start worrying? when did he start resenting? did he regret the first time he lashed out? did he stubbornly talk himself into doubling down on it instead of apologising?
