Dust: An Elysian Tail turns 10 years old in 4 months, on August 15th. The year I spent working with its voice cast remains the most cherished time of my life.
In celebration, I’d love to gather any reflections on favorite moments or how the game might’ve impacted you in any way.
I have a such a deep fondness for when I was apart of the DAET fandom, and I cherish the memories I made when I was apart of it. I’m not much of a writer or am really able to put my feelings into words, so here’s a sketch that I plan on finishing later in celebration for dust’s 10th birthday.
ah yes, i love my three sons dust, jin and (looks at smudge on hand) Celsius
im in a dust kick again and i wanted to draw out what my hcs were for them? i feel like their original designs (as much as i love them) looked a little too much like dust/eachother.
- i gave jin a smaller build (a bit hard to tell from how i drew his cloak sorry lol) and i shortened his hair and poofed it up a bit. i feel like this helps him give that more innocent look??
- meanwhile cassius i tried to make sharper, by giving him longer ears and a thin tail. i don’t think we ever see his tail?? but if he did have one i’d think it would look like this. also i (attempted) drew cassius with a closer build to dust, since cassius is the one with all the fighting ability.
- also, i drew them super dead because at one point i want to draw a sort of dream/inner self type thing where dusts souls are represented this way. i like to think jin was decapitated/throat was slit and cassius was stabbed in the heart when they were both killed. (this has some sort of symbolism…. somewhere)
at some point i’ll write something where what personality traits i think dust got from who, but this post is getting too long for my taste so that might be another post lol. thanks for coming to my ted talk
last note: i drew cassius purple and jin orange instead of the typical green/red bc. i like those colors for them better tbh lol
