“Shit!” Dustin cursed and jumped when Eddie slammed his hand beside him on the lunch table.
“So, Dustin. About our talk yesterday. What did your sister say?”
“You were serious about that?”
Dustin leaned back as Eddie hovered over him with narrowed eyes.
“Why would I joke about that?” He countered. “Can I level with you? Girls like your sister are rare especially in shithole towns like Hawkins. So, when I said put in a good word for me, I meant it.”
Jason Carver may be the most popular guy in Hawkins’ High, but that didn’t stop him from being a huge dick.
Y/N Henderson thought that he had gone unchecked for too long and needed to be knocked down a peg…or five. She grabbed a carton of milk and walked up to the table that held Jason and his popular friends.
Eddie took a deep breath. “Alright. i’m going in.”
Dustin rolled his eyes. “Great.”
They climbed out of Eddie’s van. “Hey!” The Freshman exclaimed. “You should get her flowers!”
“Flowers? Henderson, we’re already at your house. It’s too late to get flowers!”
“Just pick some from my mom’s vase. She won’t notice!”
Eddie nodded. “Right. Okay.”
He rubbed his sweaty palms on his black jeans before he followed Dustin to the house. He stopped to pick a flower and then scurried through the open door held by an impatient Dustin.
“Y/N! Eddie’s here!” He exclaimed. He turned to Eddie and pointed at him. “No funny business.”
Eddie held up his hands in defense. “No funny business,” he replied.

Eddie cleared his throat and looked away. His cheeks flushed.
“You okay?” Y/N asked.
His grip tightened on the bathroom counter he leaned against. “A pretty girl is kneeling between my legs with my jeans around my ankles. I’m peachy.” He shrugged with an awkward grin.
summary: Despite wanting to help fight, Y/n is assigned to Eddie Watch to make sure ‘he doesn’t do anything stupid’ reluctantly, she agrees. everything’s fine, everything’s good. It’s all just perfect.
“So let me get this straight,” She said, leaning forward and staring into her brother’s eyes as if this was an interrogation, and he hadn’t just approached her during lunch. “You want me to be a stand-in for your hellfire club because Lucas abandoned you guys, and if you don’t find a replacement, Eddie will kick your ass?”
Dustin sighed exhaustedly, throwing his arms up in annoyance.
“Yes, Y/n, those are the exact words that just left my mouth. So are you going to help us or not?”
She smirked, leaning back in her seat and contemplating the offer he had just given her. Of course, she was going to accept, she hadn’t had an excuse to play D&D since she was fifteen in Mike Wheeler’s basement, but Dustin didn’t need to know that.
“What’s in it for me?”
She had to suppress the smirk on her lips at the glare her brother was giving her.
“Cool shirt?” his answer came out as more of a question than a statement. She held his gaze for a second longer before grinning.
“Yeah, sure. My period is free; what time does it start?”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you. And it starts at four-thirty. Do you still have all your stuff?” He asked, standing up from her seat, a grin spreading across his face.
“Of course I do; I’m expecting that shirt before the campaign, by the way,” she yelled after him as he all but sprinted off, sending her a thumbs up as she left.
