These two were actually described as lovers by historians, but I have unfortunately lost the copy of this image with their names. Anyone?
I cannot help with the gentlemen’s names (do tell @vintagemusclemen if you happen to know!), but was delighted to see this photograph - though we’ve not seen their lovely dogs before, the chaps have graced these pages in two other outdoor portraits.
Trimmed into an uncommon diamond shape, an early 20th Century portrait for two fond friends. Interesting, but I daresay a little difficult to frame at that angle; perhaps this one was kept instead on a study desk, or in a drawer of treasured posessions.
Gosh, I almost forgot to post this one! How could this glowingly beautiful image have slipped my mind, it’s one of my absolute favourites - such clarity and charm.
It also reminds me a great deal of one of the most popular pieces in my dear collection - if you like fine-looking well dressed young men sharing a light then you will surely appreciate this photographtoo.
These incredibly intense looking gentlemen make a handsome pair, arms affectionately linked and cigarettes left on hold to smoulder as their photograph is taken.
