Spring Tour through Italy with Embarq

As a photographer, I find it’s easy to fall into a creative style that becomes comfortable or familiar. In the past year I’ve explored quite a few countries around the world and regions in North America that play to my strengths as a shooter - but don’t push me creatively.

This Spring I wanted to try something different and explore somewhere I normally wouldn’t consider. I settled on Europe early, a region I’ve hardly spent time in…and then Italy - a place I knew even less. I spent a couple of days researching key regions I wanted to hit and then decided to partner with Embarq to make this trip happen. (Embarq is a new group-gifting travel site, that can help make your travel dreams become reality). I took a flight from Vancouver to Rome (via Montreal), spent a night in the city, then rented a car to begin my trip up North. I started driving along the Italian Riviera heading towards the rugged coastline of Cinque Terre. I then drove through Milan towards South Tyrol, briefly crossing through Switzerland. I spent 3 nights in the Dolomites, seeing some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen. The zig-zag roads, epic mountains and long day hikes made were something I’ll never forget. I spent a few days in Venice thereafter- taking in the beautiful canals and quaint homes along the water.

Above is a photo-recap of my trip highlighting the various regions I visited. You can view the roadmap I took here and see the embarq profile I created: bit.ly/embarqrishad. I’ll be posting new images from my trip this week on my blog. You can also view more photos on my Instagram page @FreeRishad. If you have any questions about my trip or the embarq program, hit me up on DM.
