imo this is one of the funniest interactions in the game, and it’s a shame it’s so easily missed???
the way this casual conversation is taking place deep in some ancient haunted ruins that canach has already managed to gentrify beyond recognition
the way he’s coolly slouching to the side, comparatively tiny in his norn-sized chair that was undoubtedly custom-ordered
the way there is Absolutely Nothing on his massive desk
but most of all, the IMPLICATIONS of what he’s saying?
when we first met back in living world season 1, canach was working for the consortium, and the commander was already a renowned hero. so he was already working to become rich, and they were already fighting to make life worthwhile. so initially, this statement doesn’t seem contentious. but… the vast majority lws1 is inaccessible now.
so the earliest version of canach that MOST players have met is during the vision of Canach’s Lair, through the scrying pool in the eye of the north.
and back in the present, as if to reinforce this, your eyes are drawn to the ornately framed poster hanging boldly above his fireplace. “WANTED FOR QUESTIONING” and an unflattering police sketch. canach has painted over the printing of his name, and written his personal signature over it with a flourish. you can tell he’s proud of it, because he’s got a couple more hanging by the clubhouse entrance for good measure.
so if THAT’S the standard for our first meeting? yeah, no! i don’t think either of us imagined it ending like this! godspeed, you beautiful bastard.
Can we talk about how much fun Aurene was having destroying airships when we fought the aetherblade fleet. Saying stuff like “she thinks I’m your pet!” while chuckling as she obliterates another 5 people at once. Aurene was like “ok I regret not getting involved in icebrood saga” and immediately was ready to kill and I think that’s very funny.
it is darkly funny when horrific void events happen in new kaineng feet away from where you’re trying to fish. it’s like yes ma'am i’m sorry your organs have been teleported out of your body but i’m wearing the angler hat. what do you want me to do. i can reel them back in but that’s about it
now that arborstone is the focal point for story segments moving forward a la eye of the north i hope they do stuff with the club canach stage come season 6. canthan poetry readings. rytlock’s abysmal stand-up set. phlunt’s night.
you know if you told me going into end of dragons that snargle goldclaw was going to be one of the most well-rounded, developed characters in the entire game i don’t think i would have believed you. and yet
Gorrik talking us while we were unconscious is sad and adorable but also, man that must’ve been lonely. A week in jail, with your only friend, the friend who’s meant to be the one protecting you, being unconscious and vulnerable
Did he ever sit next to us and just listen, tell us we were gonna get home soon, talk to us about how worried everyone was gonna be - Taimi is gonna have his ears! - and just… whisper that we can take as long as we need, as long as we get back up, that he’ll keep an eye on things, keep us safe like we do everyone else

Like god, no wonder Rama refuses to take us seriously, for the first week we were around him we were probably drooling on ourselves, having to be spoon fed, and had Gorrik mid-nervous breakdown trying to convince everyone we didn’t crash the ship, we wiped out a fleet THEN crashed a ship
As a side note; how tf did we survive for a week, did we just eat magic (makes sense for sylvari I guess), or did Gorrik have to spoon feed us, did a guard have to come in and IV feed us - do they have that. Does Rama have memories of trying to get a semi-conscious concussed commander to eat sensible food cuz honestly, hat off to the man that’s the real final boss
there is ONE moment in the story were we can choose to have a poisonous meal but I haven’t done that yet and god I can’t wait til Rama and them find out we will just… eat anything we can

As for Kiran himself I have no proper backstory for him yet but I def wanna RP with him. :D All I have now is that he’s Bi, Single and he has a very calm but reserved personality but also with a touch of mystery to it.
