Meant to schedule this for yesterday but, well, life happened again so…  Better late than never right? Here’s a little snippet from, you guessed it, Maple Leaves.

“What’s the phrase you used to say?” I murmured, brows pulling together, “only a fool refuses a woman who’s offering?”

He went silent. 

And that’s when I realized. There was something else there. Beneath the youthful curiosity and wonder, beneath the jokes and the daydreams, something was nestled away.
