“I was not expecting [Anakin to slaughter younglings] when I read it for the first time in the script. You know that Anakin has to be a part of the killing of most of the Jedi. I guess that extends to the younglings, but I can’t imagine how little kids will react to that. But it’s necessary; it’s necessary to inform the extent to which Anakin is willing to follow his path. What I really kind of liked about it is that he’s emotionally aware of what he’s doing. He’s not just possessed all of a sudden. Even though you can see it in the eyes [that] he’s aware and he’s emotionally still conflicted, but has to find that resolve to realize the end result.”

lightofjedi:

I guess I wouldn’t mind the Jedi having so many haters if people would just… stop saying they like the Jedi when they only like their aesthetic or a specific Jedi.

Seriously, at least on twitter, many people will say they love the Jedi, retweet fanarts, make funny jokes and memes about them, and then proceed to make the most hateful comment on their culture and lifestyle I’ve ever seen. It’s literally like “I love the Jedi I just wish they didn’t do any of the things that make them Jedi”, it’s annoying and misleads me all the time because I’ll follow someone that’s all “oh i love jedi” and then a few days later they start spouting a bunch of fanon/legends bullshit that misunderstand, and many times vilify, the Jedi and when someone comes with actual canonical sources about them instead of fanon and headcanons, the person simply… ignores!

As if having so few of us isn’t sad enough it’s also difficult to stay away from Jedi haters because they don’t say/know they aren’t really Jedi fans, they just like their lightsabers and Luke Skywalker while being completely disdainful of their culture and essence.

Someone:VERY CLEARLY labels an AU as ‘Dark’ or 'Cursed’, puts it under a read more, and/or tells you it may be triggering.

The Salt side: SLANDER MODE ENGAGED

This fandom doesn’t like jokes unless its at the expense of another character (aka made for salt) huh?

Id say they’re beating a dead horse, but that’d be an insult to Kaalki.

Listen i know we’re calling out one side of the fandom in that PAAB chick, but like two of her victims (p*nd** dles and rj*lk*r) also harass the fuck out of bloggers for liking Adrien.

Just making that clear.

ik “blorbo from my shows” is a meme, but the heart of it (tagging a post with a character/fandom thing) has been an issue since for so long. I remember seeing people tag shit about religious discrimination with like voltron characters, seeing people use real life tragedies as prompts for fandom things, tagging posts about activism or struggles as a minority by bringing up your favourite fandom character. in that same wheelhouse there’s been people who write OTP prompts who come up with shit like “imagine character A sees someones hijab ripped off and–” or “imagine character A (a PoC) is pulled over by police and character B–”. like. can we just acknowledge how massively fucked up it all is? how someone’s post about activism or their experience with racism will get tagged with “omg this is JUST like [fictional character]”? how people will see someone’s traumatic experience being assulted because of their religion and turn it into some fun fandom thing? can we step back and realize this is fucked up and not normal behavior?

Some clarification.

The meme “blorbo from my shows”, yes, that’s fine, its a funny meme. plenty of people tag relatable jokes or meme posts with fictional characters or ocs.

However, as I stated, the concept of tagging a serious or personal post with “#[fictional character]” is not a funny thing. Nor is turning real world issues into fandom prompts. I cannot put into words how weird and disrespectful it feels to have people tag me talking about serious struggles in my life (facing racism, islamaphobia, ableism) as fandoms or ships. Nor can I put into words how gross it feels seeing people make cutesy otp prompts out of traumatic events I’ve been through, or make light of times I’ve been in serious physical danger.

I have not forgotten how during the height of the George Floyd protests people would make BLM headcanons about their fandom characters. Or people writing how they thing fictional characters would respond to horrific tragedies or political events. I’ve seen people turn mass shootings, war, and genocide into fandom prompts. This is not a new issue either, I remember people turning the issue of gay marriage legalization in the United States into a fandom thing.

None of that is normal. None of that is okay. I don’t know how to tell some of you guys that you need to realize how fucked up that behavior is. You need to stop treating people, activism, and tradegies like fandom prompts or otp inspiration.

I’m always looking for an excuse to get iddy! And then this.

“The moderators are fully supportive of kink and do not condone purity culture or censorship. However, we have enacted certain content restrictions for this bang. The following content will not be accepted for this bang: Explicit Underage Content, Incest, NSFL (necrophilia, snuff, extremely graphic nonconsensual torture). If you have any questions regarding the content restrictions, please contact a moderator.”

Hate to break it to you, mods, but what you’re doing is exactly condoning purity culture and censorship. So my question regarding the restrictions is: why even run a fandom kink event, in the Supernatural fandom in this, the year of our lord 2022, and disallow not only one of the major ships, but canoodling with unliving bodies (which likely includes just about every vessel and meatsuit an angel or demon has commandeered)? If a mod is squeamish, hey, I get it. I’ve run a ton of events and I don’t groove on everything that’s submitted. People are complicated and sometimes pretty damaged critters, and that’s a heart-breaker. Which is why we require tags for filtering, or get different mods to shepherd those fics that might be an issue for someone. There are plenty of solutions that don’t involve banning some pretty ridiculously common SPN fandom stuff. There seems to be ulterior motives at work here…

I can’t promise a lot, but I promise this blog is a safe place for your blorbo(s). Everyone has their favorites, and the characters they can’t stand or think are unnecessary or simply uninteresting. Ships they do or don’t find compelling. I’m certainly no exception. But I promise never to use this blog as a platform to say that your fav is bad or lame or shouldn’t exist. If I do, call me out. Please. There’s enough of that garbage out there and you don’t need to see it here. It costs me nothing to be nice. Or, if I have nothing nice to say, to say nothing at all.

If you’re over the age of 20 and have either “anti” or “pro ship” in your bio you need to go outside idk what else to tell you

burst-of-iridescent:

“zutara would erase katara’s culture!”

well that’s funny because between zutara and kat/aang, only one ship has katara’s partner express distaste for her food, mock her cultural artifacts and impose his own culture’s values onto her, and it sure ain’t zutara lmao

noodleincident:

representation matters vs porn doesnt affect our view of women. fight

It’s always mind blowing to me how people will write essays about negative media tropes and representation but then turn around and adamantly defend anything if sex is related to it somehow. The cognitive dissonance.

One time a (white) beta reader told me I shouldn’t have a female character hold up her hands threateningly (in a situation where she was completely justified btw) because it was too “aggressive” and therefore a racist stereotype of indigenous women (this is a character who is canonically a warrior, so you know… she fights). But then the exact same person turns around and writes this same indigenous female character being kidnapped, physically abused, and sexually assaulted by the man she will fall in love with at the end of the story. You know, literally the most widespread and awful stereotype of indigenous women in media.

But I guess that is justified because racism is fine as long as it turns her on.

Men are the same way in that every disgusting act of misogyny and violence suddenly becomes permissible to them if they can jerk off to it.

“It doesn’t matter who I am. But I know who you are. You’re not soldiers; you’re bullies. Freeloaders, abusing your power. Mostly over women and kids. You don’t want Lee in your army – you’re sick cowards messing with a family who’s already lost one son to the war.”

“The people of the world are terrified by the Fire Nation. They don’t see our greatness. They hate us! And we deserve it! We’ve created an era of fear in the world. And if we don’t want the world to destroy itself, we need to replace it with an era of peace and kindness.”

Just two things straight for Zuko’s mouth that I think the “Zuko is just a selfish bad boy” and “Zuko is a yandere creep who doesn’t really care about you” fandoms need to see ‍♀️

Compassion and a strong sense of justice have always been central to Zuko’s character. Idk why people are so insistent on making him out to be some selfish, abusive, entitled ass with no redeeming qualities. Is it because of his popularity? His appearance? Idk.

Why some people act as if Adrien’s mental health is Marinette’s responsability?

I would like to know that as well

nastywomanfan-deactivated202103:

Antis are like, the most despicable part of this fandom, ngl

Using images of REAL little girls of colour being married off to older men as property, faces of girls who are actually raped irl, and compare that horror to a fictional ship which doesn’t even involve such dynamic and which is fictional aka literally no irl person is involved… Man, the lack of consciousness, the lack of empathy and brainless readiness to ride on a high horse at any cost cuz a ship you don’t like might become canon…

NEVER trust antis when they say they “care about the children”. Cuz if they did, they wouldn’t use irl child rape images as a “gotcha” in tags

sesshoumarusama:

Reminder to antis and 2D minors defenders that your petitions and constant whining under anime official accounts won’t do shit

Please don’t add your negativity about a movie or show someone has giffed to the post itself. It’s enough that we have to see it in the tags.

If you like the character but don’t like the movie, that’s fine, but I don’t need to see it on a gifset I spent a few hours making.

damnfandomproblems:

fandom problem 3343. Rest of text on image is in the post.ALT

I really hate when it comes to found family fics people write the character’s canon family as abusive in order to justify them getting adopted by another character. Even though said family is never like this in canon or they aren’t perfect but are far from being abusive.

I don’t mind found family but you can do that without demonizing the character’s actual family.

Having OC x Canon ships is valid, but if you’re seriously attacking someone because they ship their OC with your favorite character, you need to take a chill pill.
