So…someone who drew me a lovely Atem/Bast pic mentioned about a wedding, and I figured…you know what, I should draw up a wedding pic for these two. I decided on their ancient Egypt one. Cause these two have a couple of weddings. One here of course. And another is when they are in modern times as well as have their own bodies. Their second wedding is more like renewing their vows and becoming official in the modern era. For this, I looked up about weddings in Egypt, and there isn’t exactly much that goes on with it. But considering Atem is the prince and heir to the throne, there will be a celebration. I also decided that what he wears is the outfit he is seen wearing for a brief moment in the flashbacks. I also decided to have Bast wear something different as well. I have to admit, I really do like how this came out. Having people love my characters always inspires me to keep going. :3 So thank you all!

I honestly needed to draw these two when they were younger. Since I posted them being babies, why not draw them as children next. For them, they have been close friends since they met when they were babies. Atem took it upon himself to always look after Bast since she was born weak. Luckily, she managed to survive and continue to grow into a pretty little girl. It’s not doubt that she will one day become a very beautiful young woman. Nubit also made sure to teach and train her daughter to be a proper lady. But don’t worry, Nubit isn’t harsh on her daughter. She’s strict but she means well. Plus she is always willing to listen to Bast if she wants to do something. It’s why Bast enjoys spending time with Atem (and Mana as well) since she can be around them. Atem loves spending time with Bast since she sees him as a person and not a prince. I did use a ref off of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time picture to get their poses down. They came out so adorable. :3 Next up is probably going to be their wedding picture. XD

When she opened her eyes, he was the first thing she saw. And he was the first one to see her smile despite how weak and fragile she was from birth. And despite not knowing why, Atem decided to always be there for Bast. I have always wanted to draw these two as babies. They’re both so cute. T-T And yes, this is where they first meet. I decided that when Bast was born, she was born very weak. To the point the medics of Egypt were convinced she would die very soon. This would certainly devistate Nubit since she had already lost her husband. The baby she had would be the only thing to have her remember her husband by. But thankfully, she manages to get through. Thus, Nubit names her Bast, after the Egyptian Goddess. And Atem plays a big role of Bast not dying. Something about how they saw each other seemed to click, even though they were just babies. Atem is only over nine months older than Bast. He would take it upon himself to always help her. Gah! I love these two so much! Next up is going to be them as kids. :3 enjoy!

Sometimes, even when a sketch didn’t come out so well, coloring it manages to fix it. And I am also glad to keep drawing these two. Anyway, yes, I think it’s pretty obvious what is going on here. The spirits of the Puzzle and Wand spend the entire day together. Makes sense because Yugi figured Yami Catzi would be able to help Yami Yugi out of his gloom. Catzi agrees to this plan as well. This date will certainly help with the relationship between the two, especially with their forgotten memories and love starts to surface somewhat. Again, one thing I love about this is having these two fall in love all over again. Atem doesn’t know why he wants to protect Bast, but if anyone tries to either threaten or flirt with her, you bet your ass he will step in to protect her. He certainly shows that when Johnny Steps tries to put the moves on her. Bast can dance, though she isn’t as good at it as Tea, she did use to dance back in ancient Egypt. Also, this episode would be where Yami Catzi actually finally learns her real name. But her poor husband doesn’t. So he’s still stuck as Yami. How would they react to seeing they were married to each other back then? Shocked, but try to go through with it. It’s pretty much a start to their relationship.

Two nitpicks I have with this…I drew Yami’s second belt on the wrong side and I forgot to include the bag Yami Catzi was carrying with her. But oh well…I STILL HATE DRAWING AND COLORING CHAINS!!! other than that, I do like how this came out. And yes, I finally actually drew a background and it came out just fine! I am shocked!!! Of course I did make sure to look into the scene so I know. But hey, take what I can get!

“No, I am not leaving you.”

“But–”

“Do you honestly think I would just leave you behind? Forget it, I am staying with you. I made a vow to always be your side, no matter the circumstances.”

“But Bast, if you stay…there is a chance you’ll die.”

“I don’t care. I rather die by your side than to keep on living without you. I will help you seal away the evil.”

“Even if I manage to succeed, if you stay, not only will our souls be sealed away, but both our memories of each other will be wiped. We will become strangers…”

“I believe that no matter what happens, regardless if we will lose our memories, our love will be strong enough to bring us back to each other. I believe in you, Atem. I love you.”

“…I love you, Bast. Thank you.”

I feel bad for having to neglect these two sometimes, because I really do love them. Developing Bast as well as her relationship with Atem has made me love these two so much. I can honestly feel their love for each other. Even when their memories of each other have been wiped away, their love is still there. It just has to be reawakened. By the time the series ends, with their memories back, their love is much stronger than ever before. Having them to go through so much and realizing how much they meant to each other as well as their friends, it can really tug at your heart strings. I feel the reason I haven’t drawn them enough is because I haven’t been getting any good ideas of drawing them. I tend to get artist block almost as much as writer’s block, and it’s freaking annoying. Oh well, I am glad to least draw them here and now.

The best part about this ship? The height difference. XD Okay…that’s just one of the best parts. That and the fact the interactions between these two would be freaking adorable. It’s hard to believe that Marik is actually 5'11. XD He’s like an inch taller than Joey! Catzi is kinda short compared to him. So, it would be pretty easy for him to pick her up. Though I think Catzi wouldn’t always enjoy being teased for how small she is. Also headcanon: if Marik were to ever get a girlfriend, instead of always calling her girlfriend, he would call her his Queen. Catzi would at first try to correct Marik, but he would insist on calling Catzi his Queen. Until eventually she gives in and thinks it’s cute. Though it would sometimes remind her of Queen Bast. I think Catzi doesn’t realize that she is the recarnation of Queen Bast, so yeah, she’s going to be just as beautiful as her when she grows up. It’s such a cute thought. XD there are a lot of these cute headcanons I have of Marik. Considering he was raised underground, I know he would have some limitations of what the outside world is like. I think after he goes on a revenge spree, he only learns how to use a motorcycle and just enough of the modern world to know what to do. Other than that, I think he would have NO clue about say like cell phones, computers, ect. Would explain why Yami Marik had no idea how to break into a computer in the Noah’s Ark season and just destroy it lmao But once he turned good again, Ishizu would gladly show him how to use technology. lol
