#fifth doctor

LIVE

A crossover of Doctor Who, Star Trek, and Batman was supposed to happen in 1967, but when shown to test audiences, the audience died due to how powerful the crossover was

There actually was supposed to be an episode where The Doctor has to go kill some cult leader, but ends up becoming like said cult leader. However, this was scrapped due to it being too similar to Francis Ford Coppola’s cinematic masterpiece Apocalypse Now

Fact #1159

Sir Patrick Stewart was the original choice for a doctor, but two doctors being played by a guy named Patrick was too powerful for audiences

The mysterious faces seen during the mindbending sequence in the story ‘The Brain of Morbius’ are actually the previous faces of Susan and Romana.

Nyssa wasn’t actually wearing makeup at all during series 5. Female Trakenite skin is just like that and may even be bioluminescent.

Vislor Turlough did'nt learn English the regular way. When he was exiled to that high school back in 1972 (he was born in 1944) he was taken to a translator ray, which made him know the names and vague appearances of ALL Pokémon from the first three generations. He still remembers some of those names.

Also, they truly have only one name on Trion. On Trion, Turlough’s name is just Vislor, nicknamed Vis. On Earth, his name was Victor Turlough, with “Victor” coming from “Vislor”, and “Turlough” coming from “Tusluff”, the Trion word for exile. Now, he and his wife are legally Vislor Turlough and Deela Turlough on ANY planet, and their son is known as Kyon Turlough.

something about the fifth doctor’s cricket theme feels so oddly specific and i’m obssessed with it like some doctors had no real theme or their theme was just question marks or stripes, something basic, and then there’s five in a full on cricket outfit, bat and all

Really love the playfulness (and ultimately the grinning refusal to give us a set answer) of just how much and what the Doctor suspected about Turlough prior to Enlightenment. The Fifth Doctor is a much more competently crafty character than a lot of vocal fan wisdom decries, and bits like this really illustrate the influence he had on some EDAs takes on the Eighth.

“God, I keep telling you. I wasn’t looking at porn. I was looking at tractators.”

Absolutely wild about the energy this model bought to this stock photo

how many of you have heard Cradle of the Snake?

fivebroken:Yeah. Peter describes the public’s attitude towards his father in his autobiography a bit

fivebroken:

Yeah. Peter describes the public’s attitude towards his father in his autobiography a bit. He definitely learned about racism the hard way as a kid, despite being white himself.

Bet he’s over the moon for Ncuti’s casting. I certainly am.
