#figayda think piece for your thoughts

The thing about Fig and relationships is that she would cling onto any sort of non sexual intimacy she came across, never looking to form a connection with the people she came into contact with. When she became a strangers lover it was never a reciprocated feeling of romance, it was just a way to reap the rewards of having somebody love you without the venerability or having to go through the process of forming that relationship and not wanting to fuck up your current ones. She feels like the people that were supposed to love her don’t so maybe it’ll be a good enough “gotcha” if she can find somebody to kiss that will count instead. That’s why I think her relationship with Ayda is so genuinely important to her development as a character, since it’s fundamentally opposed to any relationship, platonic or otherwise, that she’s formed over the course of fantasy high. It’s entirely honest and vulnerable with no question of loyalty, which is everything Fig has avoided up til now and everything that she needs.
