Water is wet

Water is wet because it hydrogen bonds to itself. Otherwise cohesion/adhesion wouldn’t work.

Something wet means it has absorbed/is in contact with water. Aka, has absorbed/is in contact/bonded with H2O.

Which water does. Water does it very well.

So not only is water wet. Water is very wet. It’s not even a little bit dry. It has no water repellent capability.
