Beth Fawley is used to being second best. To her overachieving brother, to her pretty best friend. As inconvenient truths unravel and her world shatters around her, she manages to find comfort in unlikely yet welcome places. But when Beth’s time in the sun comes, she might find she was better off in the shadows.
“You have to be warned,” Sirius tugged Beth onto the carpet in the middle of the living room, “I’m renowned for having the smoothest moves when I’ve had a drink or two. Calms the nerves and improves my performance, you know?”
“Is that so?” Beth arched an eyebrow. “Well, now you have to show me.”
“As the lady requests.”
