#galactic league of extraterrestrial exploration

LIVE

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Starkid’s “Time Bastard” and “The Witch in the Web.”

InStarship, we learn that in the recent past (less than a generation ago), the robots of earth rebelled against their creators in the Robot Wars.  Also, much of the world is under the control of a giant, shady organization: the Galactic League of Extraterrestrial Exploration, who are always making twisted abominations out of everything.

In “Time Bastard,” we see a future where a giant shady corporation is trying to create an army of robot workers.  But each of these robots will have human-level sentience, as at least one of them definitely rebels (the Emma Android that replaces the original Emma).

Hence, I claim that Starship  is the future of the timeline of Hatchetfield shown in “Forever and Always” and “Time Bastard.”  CCRP later reincorporates as the G.L.E.E., and the robots who don’t travel back in time eventually rebel and start the Robot Wars.

For any of this to work, the Lords in Black have to die.  In fact, they must die well before the Robot Wars, since the Starship Rangers believed that god was “long dead” 18 years before the events of the musical.  Whether they are killed by Webby, Hannah, or some other entity that we don’t know about, I don’t know.

I expect the Hivemind-controlled pod-people from TGWDLM would also agree that “the needs of the many singing and dancing alien pod-people outweigh the needs of the few singing and dancing alien pod-people, or the one singing and dancing alien pod-person.”
