I was bummed to hear of the passing of FX legend John Carl Buechleryesterday.
His work was my gateway to more serious horror fare when I was a kid.
“Ghoulies”and“Troll” prepared me for Freddy and Jason and, speaking of Jason, his version of Voorhees will ALWAYS be my favorite and his Friday Part 7 will ALWAYS be my favorite Friday.Rest in peace JCB and thanks for the warm monster memories.

JCB created so many unforgettable monsters. He was responsible for filling my childhood with great movie monster memories.
I sketched this March 18, 2019, the day of his passing.
