Chen Zhifo (1896-1962) was a Chinese artist and educator known for his revival of traditional gongbi ink painting. Characterized by careful attention to detail in his elegant flower-bird scrolls, Chen brought modern innovation into an ancient art form through subtle use of patterns, perspective, and form, inspired by his study in Japan.
Recently, an exhibition of his works has been on display as part of Art Macao, through a multimedia collaboration with the Nanjing Museum.
