Chen Zhifo (1896-1962) was a Chinese artist and educator known for his revival of traditional gongbi ink painting. Characterized by careful attention to detail in his elegant flower-bird scrolls, Chen brought modern innovation into an ancient art form through subtle use of patterns, perspective, and form, inspired by his study in Japan.
