Twitter MOTU Drawing Challenge Week 154 (March 27 - April 03): Sky-Sled ⚔️

My late entry for this drawing challenge (i don’t know why things are so busy), but i had an idea that i just couldn’t pass up.

My drawing is based on a Frank Frazetta painting called “Devil Rider” (see bottom picture), which was perfect for this challenge.

TheSky-Sled takes the place of the motorcycle, the man in the painting already looks like He-Man (so that was easy), and as for the devil in the background, it was a no-brainer who to replace him with (Skeletor, of course!).

My first thought was to use Teela as the female, but i decided i wanted someone who looked more like the girl in the original painting. So I went through the different characters and chose Teela’s friend ileena. Like the original girl, ileena has long blonde hair and wears a 2-piece outfit (both outfits are even in the same color family).

I even replaced the devil head on the motorcycle with the head of Granamyr (the dragon in the He-Man cartoon).
