Georg Lurich : another submission from our generous reader ‘Nice Guy’ - thankyou kindly, good sir. Lurich was an Estonian strongman and Greco-Roman wrestler. Always curious to find out about the people behind these pictures, I’ve done a little digging and found he was a fascinating character, his life story and achievements are well worth a read.

Whilst looking up further information on Georg Lurich to go with my previous post, I happened across this extraordinary photograph of one of his feats of strength - lifting five men with just one arm. I can’t figure out quite how he’s holding them up, but the jolly chap at the top looks the happiest with the situation by far!
