I also want to give this story a backstory, Gretchen and Henry are in a building talking to one of the facility workers and he was really rude about Henry’s problems. Gretchen has NO IDEA THAT HENRY CAN GROW. Henry hide that from her for awhile, she’s a nurse for the facility and only knew Henry has bad anxiety problems. Gretchen did her best to calm him down but…
His role in his colony is to go out (usually to the apartment building’s terrace) and steal food from the little community garden they have up there. He’s not best suited for this, he’d be much better as a guard or a hunter, given that he’s kinda maxed out on helpful genetics, but there’s two problems there.
1: Hes lazy. He sleeps a lot and refuses to learn how to fight properly. And 2: sometimes a lot of good can become a bit…overwhelming. George may have a lot of idealized genes, but putting them all together? It makes his life much harder than other borrowers tend to realize, which is why he sleeps so often. While the others think he’s being selfish by not helping the colony as much as he could and napping, he’s literally just trying to get a break from life.
Mans has the funkiest mixed genetics of any of the borrowers in this au, with his weird mismatched pupils and downward pointed ears, both of which are very rare traits because of the weird genetic mix that needs to happen to lead to it. Not to mention the fact that claws, heterochromia, and animalistic noses on borrowers are both uncommon on their own, but putting them all together? George is a mess. But I love him.
