That blue splash with drips to the right —- so exciting! It was done in white, then glazed over for the blue tint. I love how the layers alternate between control and risk.

Here’s the second “square foot” of mountainous pleasure. I enjoy the mix of fluidity and graphic punch. It is interesting to start with the painterly material, then bring out the form latent within it.

The forces of geology provide such rich metaphors. Here is Fault Line, where you can feel the heat of transformation, the friction of change. This piece is unusual in the series, in that the top third is one solid piece — but that stability then ruptures into colour and movement.
