One of the first pieces that brought classical elements under the ice —— called “Corinthian.” Some glowing painterly effects in here… the solvent drips and masking. The history and movement of the ice. #contemporaryart #contemporarypainting #landscapepaintingnow #landscapepaintingnowcanada #arcticice #iceberg #corinthiancolumns #hamontart #canadianartist https://www.instagram.com/p/CKWY9wWgu2M/?igshid=osj3f9bssv01
Called “Nimbus” — I like the word as it can mean both a type of cloud, and a halo. A radiant sphere of glory, or a rain cloud. Mountain peaks often form their own local weather — are you ready to climb? • #mountainart #nimbus #halo #glory #stripes #weather #contemporarypainting #hamontart @landscape_painting_now @landscape_painting_now_canada #frankstella #collagepainting #collageart #abstractedlandscape #canadianartist (at Hamilton, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIv2sMcgOXC/?igshid=9auz1f9z301p

You know that feeling when your ears are under water and there is the absolute quiet peace? This mandala gives me that feeling, that quiet peace and feeling that everything is good and all pressures and worries are washed away.
This original mandala, Ocean Peace, was created using watercolor pencils and ink on mixed media paper.
Coming soon, this mandala will be mounted on a wood panel.
New mandala in the works. I always find sketching and inking in a mandala in one sitting helps keep everything cohesive. Sometimes the shapes I see on paper can change from day to day and it doesn’t always work with the current drawing. So, one sitting!
If you enjoy and like my post, I would love to hear from you.
