Vintage Art Deco Vanity Set, Pink Guilloche.
This hand mirror and brush set is in the Art Nouveau/Art Deco style and was probably made around the 1950s. Soft pink guilloche, art deco design in enamel on the back, copper metal handles and real bristles.
In great vintage condition, the mirror is undamaged although there are some aging signs where the handle meets the head on the back.

So most Sailor Moon fans know that Naoko based a lot of her creations on antiques. I’ve been finding the manga version of Sailor Neptune’s Deep Aqua Mirror on Etsy and Ebay for the last few months and I thought I’d share the most recent one I found.

If you type in ‘Art Nouveau Hand Mirror’ on either Etsy or Ebay you’re liable to find one going for about $30 to $60 depending on the size and quality of the mirror. Also, the backing of the mirror seems different on each one which makes me think they have been replaced over the years. There are two versions: One with two vine ‘bumps’ on the left (like the manga) or just one vine ‘bump’. I guess it’s a preference thing. Anyway, I thought I’d put this up in case anyone wants one of their own. :B
