Vidspam #10: Handlebars (Doctor Who)

You’ve probably seen this. It’s also been done in other fandoms since (similar to how NIN’s Closer became the defining slashvid song, this is the song for megalomaniacs).

If you haven’t seen it, you probably don’t do vids, in which case this is the fanvid you should see IMO.

CINTES - STANDBIKEME by Ana V. Francés

Standbikeme launches CINTES, an original alternative to the handlebars of your bike.

A Valencian project, dedicated to rescuing bikes and giving them a new life, launches its first product through fromlab.com crowdfunding platform.

CINTES is a handmade product that comes in a recycled cardboard box. Inside you will find two pieces of genuine leather, a pair of laces and a pair of bar end plugs of natural cork.

1. Who is behind “stand bike me”?

Standbikeme is founded by a group of friends. Amparito, Antonio, Naco and Quique are from Valencia and all coming from different professions such as architecture, design, photography and commercial business. Connected with the love for bikes they fight for their vision that two wheels make a better city! We are from Valencia and we are Amparito, Antonio, Nacho y Quique.

2. Why bike accesories?

Our specilition towards bike accessories is coming from a big lack of nice stuff for urban cyclists and the fact of a growing interest in bikes for mobilty and sports.

We are creating outstanding accessories which are individual and, most important, feel good while pedaling through your home town.

3. How do you get organized? What is your workplace like?

Antiono is the head of standbikeme and in charge for product development, Nacho is our bike creator, Quique leads accounting and Amparito leads communication.

Our new workspace is almost established and ready for inspiring hours working on our bikes. The “standbikeme creation forge” is situated in Burjassot and so very close to our homes. It ́s a space we share with other partners. Fresh thinking, headed to design excelence and of course always is the combinding element for all of us.

4. Any future plans?

Yes of course. We will keep on designing gadgets for bikes and also for homes, always considering the sustainable way of mobility.

Also we are going to continue rescuing homeless bikes until there is not a single one left. Creating trendy compositions, for all of those who like the comfort of an individual and hand-crafted bike.

Overall it ́s our aim to assist all bikelovers who identify themselves with the passion for conquering a city on two wheels. And together with public facilities we want to be part of the dynamic change from a motorized to a healthy and sustainable way of mobilsation. Supported with our future development, the perfect clothing collection for biking, there is no more excuse for not taking the bike.
