The Happiest Countries in the World

The 2021 World Happiness Report was unveiled yesterday. The Happiness Report is based on a variety of factors including mental health, political unrest, corruption, life expectancy and average income levels. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic largely influenced perceived levels of happiness which caused some countries to drop in the rankings due to decreased mental health. At the top of the list is Finland, for the fourth year in a row, followed by Iceland, Denmark, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, countries such as the United Kingdom dropped in the ranking, moving from 13th to 18th place, and countries such as the United States moved up in the ranking, rising from 18th place to 14th place.
