Labour of love: I visited this hidden gem in Dun Laoghaire today - The Oratory of the Sacred Heart, a commemoration to the many local Irishmen who died in WWI.
The incredibly talented Sister M. Concepta Lynch dedicated 16 years of her life hand painting the walls between 1920-36 in the style of the Gaelic revival, filled with fine details (including a tribute to her father, an artist himself) and hidden symbols from Early Irish Christian Art. The stained glass windows were provided by the famous Harry Clarke Studio of Dublin.
