#heartstopper spoilers
i can’t stop thinking about tao and elle, and the way their relationship was portrayed so beautifully on the show. One of my favourite scenes was how tao made elle promise during their movie night that no matter what, they’d always, always put their friendship first, above anything and everything- that moment formed such a crucial point in their relationship. I felt the panic and fear in elle’s eyes on the triple date when she realised the others were trying to get them to realise their feelings for each other, and yaz plays elle so beautifully, the way she portrayed all of elle’s emotions, you could tell from the way she panicked that she was thinking back to that promise, and how her friendship with tao was so much more important to her than any other feelings that might get in the way. I don’t know, but something about their relationship just gets to me, tao buying her drink for her at every lunch forgetting that she is at Higgs now, them looking out for each other on their way back home from school, the way they confide in each other, their connection is tangible. Every single interaction of theirs was beautiful, and Alice has written their relationship with such care, all of their scenes had such a warmth to them. The way they love each other is so wholesome. And Will did such an amazing job at portraying tao, he really nailed the essence of his character. That scene on the last episode in the art room and the way he looked at her was just… beautiful. Like we saw how these two characters are perfect for each other and how beautifully they complement one another, elle helping tao cope with change, tao always looking out for elle and checking up on her as she moves to a new school, their conversations and the way they banter and tease and play off of one another, them slowly falling for each other, the pining, the soft glances, the sparks, they are just beautiful. One of the most beautiful things about the show was how it added a whole new layer of depth and meaning to tao and elle’s relationship, their arc was so well done, we better get a season 2 where we see them grow together even more, i love them with my whole heart <3
does it ever drive you crazy, just how fast the night changes…
no bc the lines “Oh my god I like you so much. And I love liking you.” make me want to scream and cry and throw an overall temper tantrum.
the way nick says the “oh my god” perfectly conveys that at that moment all he feels is just these overwhelming feelings for charlie that he just likes him so much. but the fucking kicker is that he loves that feeling. he’s gone from ep. 2 crying while googling am i gay quizzes and spending the season trying to get a grip on this part of himself he’s just discovered, to shouting to the world that he likes charlie spring in a romantic way and they’re boyfriends. and he loves that feeling. he loves kissing his boyfriend on the sidewalk and in the photobooth and holding his hand and sharing earbuds. he’s not confused anymore and he’s not ashamed. nick likes charlie so much and he loves it.
love the fact that Nick realizes he is bisexual while watching Pirates of the Caribbean, because with Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, the movie has been enlightening bisexuals since 2003 and I am glad that a piece of media has finally acknowledged it
what really gets to me is just how earnest nick is about his feelings for charlie, despite how confused he is about himself at first. he immediately goes to charlie the next day after their first kiss because he wants charlie to understand he doesn’t regret the kiss, he’s just really conflicted about himself. he doesn’t ignore or shut charlie out while figuring out his sexuality and wanting to keep quiet about it at first, unlike ben. he makes it clear to charlie that he really likes him and doesn’t want to go on dates with anyone else despite not being official yet. he gets really emotional when he wants charlie to realize how amazing and wonderful he really is and that he’s changed nick’s life for the better, and that he doesn’t regret a single second with him. nick just communicating with charlie throughout the whole process is such a refreshing change from some of the shows we’ve gotten with lgbt+ representation in the past, and i’m so glad that lgbt+ youth and the community in general have a show like this to watch.
thinking about charlie’s frequently used emojis :’)
obsessed with the implication that both Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom are aware of their influence over baby bisexuals and also approve of it [x]
