i can’t stop thinking about tao and elle, and the way their relationship was portrayed so beautifully on the show. One of my favourite scenes was how tao made elle promise during their movie night that no matter what, they’d always, always put their friendship first, above anything and everything- that moment formed such a crucial point in their relationship. I felt the panic and fear in elle’s eyes on the triple date when she realised the others were trying to get them to realise their feelings for each other, and yaz plays elle so beautifully, the way she portrayed all of elle’s emotions, you could tell from the way she panicked that she was thinking back to that promise, and how her friendship with tao was so much more important to her than any other feelings that might get in the way. I don’t know, but something about their relationship just gets to me, tao buying her drink for her at every lunch forgetting that she is at Higgs now, them looking out for each other on their way back home from school, the way they confide in each other, their connection is tangible. Every single interaction of theirs was beautiful, and Alice has written their relationship with such care, all of their scenes had such a warmth to them. The way they love each other is so wholesome. And Will did such an amazing job at portraying tao, he really nailed the essence of his character. That scene on the last episode in the art room and the way he looked at her was just… beautiful. Like we saw how these two characters are perfect for each other and how beautifully they complement one another, elle helping tao cope with change, tao always looking out for elle and checking up on her as she moves to a new school, their conversations and the way they banter and tease and play off of one another, them slowly falling for each other, the pining, the soft glances, the sparks, they are just beautiful. One of the most beautiful things about the show was how it added a whole new layer of depth and meaning to tao and elle’s relationship, their arc was so well done, we better get a season 2 where we see them grow together even more, i love them with my whole heart <3
Just want to say how much Heartstopper has meant to me and how excited I am for the show. I’ve been in this fandom so long, and it’s been amazing to watch the comic grow more popular and for it go from ‘would be nice if it were a TV show’ to 'it could be a TV show’ to 'it will be a TV show’! So, I’ve been rewatching Heartstopper for a 10th time or something and in ep. 5. Girls, there’s this scene (one of my faves) when Charlie and Nick sit next to the drums and Charlie starts talking that he’s happy that Nick’s there, but also that he’s afraid, that people will find out about them, because they spend so much time together, He didn’t wanted for Nick to go through the same things he has and was something that Ben was afraid of. He was scared to be seen with a boy
Nick as a reply says, that he started to search bisexuality and that he think it’s him, and that made me realize that Nick wanting to keep their relationship a secret, was never about him being with Charlie or a boy for that matter, it was about him not knowing who he is anymore. You know how it it’s when you came out that you’re in relationship with the same sex, people start asking you question about your sexuality, and Nick was struggling with figuring that out. As soon as he realized and accepted that he’s bi, he told Charlie that he don’t want to hide their relationship anymore.
He was never ashamed to be seen with Charlie and that’s why he will always bee different that Ben.
