RIP Andre Harrell⤵️
I’m posting this on here because I know not everyone on here knows who he is & his contribution to Hip Hop culture, thus culture period. House of Trillium may not exist without Andre’s foresight in music, business, & fashion.
Andre was part of the rap duo Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde who dropped theeee bop “Genius Rap"
He later founded Uptown Records in 1986 & dropped this video Uptown Kickin’ It! This was world’s introduction to Uptown Records’ acts which included Heavy D & the Boyz, Groove B. Chill, & DJ Marley Marl.
Over the years some other notable acts signed to Uptown Records were:
• Mary J. Blige
• Jodeci
• Lost Boyz
• Monifah
• Al B. Sure!
• The Notorious B.I.G.
Diddy was an intern at Uptown Records & when he was let go he started Bad Boy Entertainment & took Biggie with him.
I chose this clip to show how he ushered in this huge era of music that impacted & changed my life. This is a really light gloss over of his contributions but I need y'all to understand that he did so much to push Hip Hop forward. His greatness will not be forgotten.
