[Artists in Studio Ghibli’s Movies] - Hisako-When Marnie Was There (2014)
Hisako is an artist who Anna befriends during her stay at the Oiwas.
She’s one of the first people Anna gets to know and seems comfortable with, probably because she is an artist as well. Hisako is a quiet presence and appears to be respectuful of Anna’s reserved nature.
We don’t know much about her, except she was a close childhood friend of Marnie.
Hisako is fascinated by the Marsh House, which seems to be one of her favourite subjects to paint. She’s an impressionist painter who likes to work en-plein-air and whose paintings show great attention to light and colours.
