serving as the unofficial canine successor to Katnip Kollege, Carl Stalling’s musical prowess is given a heavy emphasis in this jovial, musical outing placing a heavy emphasis on rural rhythm. Pinto Colvig lends his unmistakable Goofy voice as the lead, the first of a number of small leading roles in various Warner Bros cartoons. while the short’s song number is the unmistakable highlight, Stalling’s musical abilities are a welcome addition from start to finish, musical timing and atmosphere rightfully more potent in this cartoon than others.
