Pink Shibori Pillow|The Crafted Life

There’s a lady at the markets I sell at who makes amazing Shibori dyed pillows, blankets, book covers, etc and I’ve always wanted to try it myself. I’m a little wary of dye - it seems overly complicated and difficult to achieve a good result - but The Crafted Life makes it look like a snap! And the pink colour is perfect for my Summer Decor ideas…

9 Amazing DIY Wall Hangings|Tell Love And Party

TL&P has rounded up some amazing DIY wall hangings here. I know some people might find them a little played out, but the visual impact a wall haning can make in a space is huge, and generally they are pretty cheap to make. I’m feeling like my space needs a bit more fun and colour now that we are (kind of) in to spring now, so I’m thinking I might create a piece like number 7 in some fun pastels (also: tassels!) I also love the colours in number 1 - this might have to go in my bathroom!

Succulent Sand Art Terrariums |Design Improved

If you got caught up in the candy bar craze of recent times, you’ve probably got quite a few glass jars like myself. This project is a perfect way to re-purpose them in a bright, fun and colourful way! I loved sand art as a kid, so this is an excuse to do it as a grown up. Also I absolutely love that colour combo above of pink, white, navy and aqua - someone make that into a fabric for me!

Teacup Pendant Light |Flamingo Toes

I remember seeing an amazing teacup light on etsy once and being so excited, until I saw the price. Hoo boy. So I kind of put it in the past and figured it was awesome but not going to happen. Well Flamingo Toes has gone and made my dream possible again with this awesome tutorial! It can be quite difficult to drill through ceramic so if you attempt this, have a go on some junky items before you go for your end piece. This would be perfect for a kitchen or a little one’s Alice in Wonderland themed bedroom!

I love me a good IKEA hack, and this one doesn’t involve any modifications to the actual woodwork (which is good for those of us without tools or the skills!) I particularly love the gold handles from Anthropologie - check out their whole range here (I particularly love the Druzy Quartz knobs!)

Giant Decorative Tassel|Cuckoo 4 Design

When I saw this tassel I was curious…how could you make something like this for just $9?! Well it really can be done, with just some mop heads, different thicknesses of twine and a paint roller! Crazy, but the end result is just gorgeous and great for so many different decors. Plus if you’re looking for a cheap gift for your stylish friends they would never know this wasn’t from a high-end homewares store!

Bath Salt Ornaments|Why Don’t You Make Me

I was perusing the local craft store’s Christmas discount bin (discounted two weeks before Christmas!) and found a huge bunch of DIY ornaments! I was so excited because I thought I could use them to make massive bath bombs, but then in some kind of kismet I found this fantastic DIY. This is the perfect last minute/I forgot to buy you a present/we didn’t know you would be at this party present. Fill it up with whatever botanicals you have on hand or check out your local health food store for supplies.

Speckled Key Chains|Sugar & Cloth

Over Christmas, like every year, I hunted for bargains in the sales. There was one keychain I loved that was $20, reduced to $5. And it broken within a week. Sigh. Whereas my previous keychain that I made myself was still looking good after a year (albeit slightly banged up!). So there you go, DIY is good for your soul and pocket! You can whip up a batch of these little speckled beauties and hand them out, or make them in different colours to keep keys sorted.

Abstract Art|Style Me Pretty

I think it’s time for me to finally buy myself a canvas and make my own piece of abstract art! I’ve been pinning a lot of pieces recently and I love the use of gold leaf in a piece. This tutorial from Style Me Pretty is really simple and easy to follow, and you can use any colour you want to suit your mood or interior. Lavender with silver foil or black/grey with gold foil would also look amazing!

No-Sew Funfetti Cake Slice Pillow|Aww Sam

That’s right, no-sew! If you’re looking for a fun gift to give (Christmas is coming according to the stores around me!) you can’t go any sweeter than a giant cake slice pillow. Perfect for little ones or big ones with a sweet tooth. Created with a bit of glue (a little hand-stitching, but no sewing machine required!) and a lot of frosting (in you to keep you energised!) you or your giftee will have sweet dreams with this soft slice. Yum!

If I had to describe my interior style I guess I would say… Scandi meets 60′s Glam Quirk in Pink. I love natural wood but I won’t say no to a horse lamp, retro dresser and pink fur pillow! This quick and easy piece fits right into my style and can be customised to suit your style. Try painting the beads in bright colours, paint only half of the bead in a pastel green or go glitter gold. Make them suit your own interior style and change it up when you do!
