For the record Agatha Harkness did in fact have Billy and Teddy raped

Let’s make this thing clear about Hulkling & Wiccan: Infinity that’s the plot. Hulkling and Wiccan are forced by Agatha with powers beyond their controll into a situation where they had emotional and also clearly sexual encounters with men they did not know.

There is a lot of dumb and lazy shit about this book, but this is the largest proble and the offensive core of it and yes it should absolutely outrage you.

Billy and Teddy did not make choices that led to these situations they were dumped into situations at which point these choices had already been made beyond their control.

The fact that they potentially could have made choices to lead to these situations, which the book really doesn’t show as this appears from a reality where Teddy was never on earth, which was outside of his control, does not matter because they made different choices.

If reality altered so I made the choice to intentionally drive over a person with my car, even though I never did, that was not my choice, but the nullification of my choice.

Similiarly forcing a reality at which you ended up with someone else and fucked him means all your choices to divert from that path were taken away from him and your mind and body were violated beyond your control and the fact that both Billy and Teddy immediately dump their squeezes to be with their actual partners proves they would not have made these choices when they had been given to them.

The fact that Agatha neither designed the circumstances nor used her own magic to create them does not mean she is not to blame. She used Billys powers which he would otherwise not have used for this purpose to make circumstances, which he had not thought up in that form, a reality, she actively made the decision to take away both of their agency and free will and ended up realizing those in which they were raped in this form, before she called it fun for all of them and it being her gift to them and pretending she essentially showed them the option of breaking free from a destiny forced on them, when in fact their relationship has only been suggested to be anything but a result of their choices once, when it suggested Billy created Teddy to begin with. Not the most problematic bullshit in these characters history anymore.

And no it’s not meant to be rape by the writer. But it is what the writer wrote. Avengers #200 was not meant to inform us that Carol Danvers got raped, but a romantic send-off for her, but that was not what they wrote, when they informed us her falling in love was with some help from some machines.

But obviously the fact that this story written with an heterosexual woman involved in the mix would have created outrage in 70s means that in the 2020s it is still okay to write with gay people and will cutesified and ignored as a fun little story just like that time it was implied the very same thing may have been the origin of this couple alltogether.
