Hi, gay. Happy Proud Month ️
Happy Pride Month to all of our followers! We are SO excited to celebrate this month with y'all!
Let’s talk about Teddy’s PRONOUNS!!!
It’s not technically canon, we strongly feel that Teddy, a Kree/Skrull (and a literal shapeshifter), is genderfluid.
In the conceptual notes for Young Avengers, Teddy was a shapeshifter who went out superheroing as a man and then lived day-to-day life as a woman. Heinberg’s idea was for Teddy to be “neither male nor female.” (Something we thought of before we found out about this concept. Minds. Blown.)
As they dig deeper into their heritage and learn more about who they are, it’s easy to imagine Teddy feeling a need to express the literal changeable nature of his body and gender identity. (It’s also easy to imagine Billy being extremely supportive!)
So from here on out, our version of Teddy is he/they. ❤️ Stay tuned for more Pride content coming this month!
Teddy was leaving Excelsior ALL over the apartment. What are you supposed to do with a mystical King of Space sword when you’re not battling for the galaxy?
Duh nuh nuh nuh nuuuuuuuh nuhNUH! X-Men: The Animated Series was a big part of our introduction to the Marvel Universe. This comic is a little reality warping to gush about an early influence and one of the best Saturday morning cartoons of all time!
It’s also a (belated) thank you. Months ago we reached out to creators of the series asking if they had any more of their “Previously On X-Men” hats available for purchase. Lucky for us they had a few in stock and on sale! Cue: gratuitous creator photo.
Hey Tumblr!!
If you’re interested in getting one of these hats for your very own, you can email the Lewalds at [email protected]! (They also just released a gorgeous new book X-Men: The Art and Making of the Animated Series. Highly recommended!)
Did y'all hear that Empyre, Lords of Empyre: Emperor Hulkling, and Empyre: Aftermath Avengers won Outstanding Comic Book at the @glaad Media Awards?
We thought it would be fun for Billy and Teddy have their place at the podium (and a queer fashion MOMENT). ️
To@marvel,@jimcheungart,#AllanHeinberg,@meakoopa,@dan.slott,@zdarsky,@valerio_schiti,@martegraciacolor@joecaramagna,Al Ewing,Manuel Garcia, Cam Smith, Tríona Farrell,Ariana Maher,Travis J. Lanham and everyone involved in Billy and Teddy’s creation and journey: thank you.
Thank you for creating this kind of representation–for seeing us.
Anyone else pre-mourning the end of Pose?
You know when you see something online and you just CAN’T let it go? Yeah. YEAH!
This week’s comic was inspired by tweets by the incredible @brettwhite.
Full disclosure: we had a discussion about the most thirst-inducing poses while making this comic.
*W.A.S.P = White Anglo-Saxon Protestant.
We’ve been watching WandaVision with the same rabid attention as many other Young Avengers fans on the internet. From the second there was a hint of the twins, we were plugged in. Ready for it.
We’ve been talking about making a comic playing with the idea of the show pretty much from episode one.
At the same time, just like many others, we’ve carried the disappointment at the whitewashing of Wanda’s character from her intro in the MCU. Wanda is Jewish. She is Romani. That’s something we want to honour in our comics as much as we can.

With a little inspo from Russell Dauterman’s Wiccan and Hulkling variant cover.
There’s only one way to bribe Tommy into playing a tabletop RPG.
Happy 2021.
O Teddy tree
O Teddy tree!
How Hulkling are thy branches?
Wishing you and yours a safe and happy holiday, and a bright new year!
We’re taking a short break from making comics to fully lean into the holidays (AKA playing a lot of Hades and eating cookies for days). See you in 2021!
