I am really excited to say that my first independent artistic release is launching in a few weeks!

As many probably know by now, iamamiwhoami is a Swedish audiovisual project that is very important to me since it has inspired and reshaped my outlook on what it means to be creative. For the past few years, its ability to dovetail high quality visuals with gorgeous music has come as a result of rejecting external pressures and commercial expectations to remain completely independent. Through these methods, iamamiwhoami has been able to grow and expand its creative endeavours to create stunning, high quality releases in different artistic domains. In this vein, what it means to be independent and to create without limitations are notions I value as an artist.

In celebration of iamamiwhoami, what its work represents, and in thanks for the opportunities it has given me over the years to develop my craft, I created a series of playing cards last year that celebrate the visual “empire” they have created and sustained since 2009 in hopes of continuing the discussion in a unique visual format. They release on my website store, Market, on December 10th, and I’m proud to say that it has been me, myself, and I that has designed them and overseen their distribution (with blessings from @twimclabel). This is a small stepping stone in what I hope launches more opportunities to create without limitations, and to continue developing and discovering my craft as an artist.

iamamiwhoami is a musical/visual project by artist/songwriter Jonna Lee in musical collaboration with producer/songwriter Claes Björklund. iamamiwhoami originates from its YouTube channel and has, since the start in 2009, released music and film episodes in series with a continuous storyline. iamamiwhoami’s releases include bounty (2010),kin (2012), and BLUE (2014).

Since its inception, iamamiwhoami’s audience has been integral to the project’s development. This custom designed playing card deck serves to present the current legacy of iamamiwhoami in a unique visual format, and by these means demonstrates one individual’s response to the iamamiwhoami project. The cards are designed to reflect the visual empire iamamiwhoami has created and sustained since its birth in 2009.
