*checks my watch* Oh look it’s time to actually play the games that are piling up in my Steam library again.

Idk I figured posting about it here might be an incentive to both keep up with that and also uhh actually remember to update my tumblr?? Who knows.

When The Past Was Around

I just finished this game, and the atmosphere in this is just so good. Everything’s so pretty and light, even though it deals with a heavy topic like mourning. The art itself has this really fresh atmosphere to it, but there’s something about the music that just keeps reeling you back in from deep sadness and back into the light, which really pulls the whole thing together.

It’s a short game but the puzzles and narrative really compliment each other in terms of pacing, and together it just has the perfect length. The puzzles aren’t too complicated or anything, but for that reason they also don’t take you completely out of the story, which is always the risk with storydriven point and clicks imo.
…Oh, and of course, the only real rating that matters: Did I cry while playing it? Yes.

Anyway it’s a wonderful experience, please give it a shot!
