text in image: "The Alabama measure is part of a larger movement by Republican-led states to impose restrictions on the lives of transgender youth in the US. Despite the legislative push to end this kind of treatment, gender-affirming care is a recommended practice for people who identify as transgender, meaning they identify with a gender that is different from the one assigned at birth, or gender- diverse, with a gender expression that doesn't strictly match society's traditional ideas about gender."

look objectively this [from here] is probably on the whole fine and even good but i’m just. if you’re defining ‘gender-diverse’ [well-intentioned but. kill me.] as like. being gnc in a way that is specifically not abt being trans but just abt presentation [which, idk that framing these as definitely-distinct categories is totally possible or good, but]—then (a) why bring it up at all in the context of a discussion abt ‘transitioning medications,’ and (b) is ~gender-affirming care~ for these hypothetical explicitly-a-separate-category-from-Actual-Trans gnc kids not just, like, not being a dick to them??

as always open 2 different takes here but. squinting a lil.

Finn Longman (a white person with a buzz cut and orange tinted glasses) wearing a grey t-shirt that reads "it's pretty stabby", with a picture of a knife. They're standing in a bookshop, gesturing towards copies of The Butterfly Assassin on display. ALT

Moment of appreciation for my publication day t-shirt, which is both a My Chemical Romance reference and a description of the book.

A Facebook post from Finn Longman dated 26th May 2014, reading "The French word for moth is so hardcore. 'The butterfly of night'. It sounds like an assassin's nickname. And saying that, I've got an idea..."ALT

Fish child from the Mistholme exhibit: A Medium-Sized Figurine Of A Blue-Ringed Octopus

An ink drawing of a girl made of shining brass, with tiny gears visible at her joints. She is wearing an intricate lace trimmed dress in dull pink tones. Her eyes are closed.

taking a brief break from drawing the clockwork mother to draw… her clockwork daughter…

Various sketches of a man with hair tied back, a beard, and freckles. His left arm has extensive scars and missing fingers. He crouches near a jackalope and text reads: holy shit it's so cute.
