house of decay

before the sun screamed out its last ray of light, she ran, as her grandmother once old her, to the house of decay.

Forgotten many years ago, the trees curled in, begging the ground for liquid life, the rotted wood reached together by beaten threads and the only inhabitants were a family of lively pigeon corpses

she peeled the confining threads off her back and recalled her grandmother’s resting words, “ run fast to the house of decay!, and there amongst forgotten life, as the sun falls to  absolute darkness, you will find the brightest light”

// A Study of Dualism - 2013

In the history of thought, the idea that the mind and body are separate has been hotly debated. Probably the most famous statement of mind/body dualism is from the philosopher René Descartes, who in the 17th century argued that there are two different kinds of stuff in the world: stuff extended in space (such as chairs, computers, and human bodies) and stuff which lacks extension but somehow exists as an immaterial substance (the human mind).
“There is a great difference between mind and body, inasmuch as body is by nature always divisible, and the mind is entirely indivisible.”

how do you understand the body and the mind? both as matter and in the perception of others.. Pay attention to the mind and the minds of those around you, it’s easy to be shallow and let the body fool and distract you
