To say that people are excited to see an Indian Motorcycle in Medellín would be a huge understatement.
Juan, in the Indian shirt, has been a part of OG motorcycle scene of Medellín for generations. He is in love with Indian Motorcycles and painted the brand’s logo as the mural out front of his moto repair shop / bar / gathering point late last year.
To meet me (and let’s be honest, see the bike ;) threw me a little party with incredible food, all because I said I wanted to eat tacos!
Goose (@david_gooseman ), as usual, made it all happen.

I wish that I could transport you into what it feels like for me on this white jaguar stallion, with RSD pipes, me in my RSD black leather, to pull up into a little mountain town like this.
The stares I get.
The comments when I stop to do anything, such as buy fruit.
It’s pretty hilarious.
I bet a VR experience could do it, to a certain degree.

Riding with our wildlife behavioral enrichment consultant, who just so happens to be a dear friend of mine.
This was her second time on the back of a motorcycle, the first time was with me at least 13 years ago.
We borrowed a helmet and made an impromptu seat. I used the two Possibilities Pouches and their awesome Pronghorn straps to configure saddlebags, which works surprisingly well.
So good to have my vertebrate field zoology, animal behavior, and not-so-clandestine chemistry partner for a ride into the Chicamocha canyon in Colombia.
Thanks for your help enriching the lives of rescued wildlife at @cabildoverde

“HOW DID YOU GET HERE?”
I get this question a lot.
Sometimes they’re referring to the extremely remote location, such as the outskirts of the Peruvian Amazon or the otherworldly tropical dry forests of Ecuador.
I can’t blame them; a woman dressed in black leather on a classic-looking Indian Scout Sixty, alone, is a strange sight to behold.
I’ve grown accustomed to the double-takes and bewildered stares.
Other times, they’re asking how my life ended up as it is, living on a motorcycle and pursuing wildlife protection…
