John Sheahan was the quiet one in The Dubliners. In that cast of beardy and hairy rogues and rascals, Sheahan stood out by not standing out. Brought in to stand shoulder to shoulder with founder members Luke Kelly, Ronnie Drew, Barney McKenna and Ciarán Bourke, Sheahan’s playing brought a touch of elegant class to that gallery. I visited Ireland finally and went to the titanic experience! I only had 24 hours to cram everything into but Dublin and Belfast were amazing. Both are beautiful cities steeped in history and character.
I’ve always been fascinated with the titanic, going to the experience has been high on my bucket list for some time now and I would very much recommend going.
John and Edward have announced that their new single, “Make Your Own Luck” will be released on 30 January! This is the artwork - isn’t it lovely!
The video will hopefully be out this week. We’re looking forward to it a lot!
Do you have your tickets yet for John and Edward’s Irish tour next month? If not, then you’d best hurry! The Irish popstar twins have just about sold out their DublinandDrogheda concerts, with limited tickets remaining for their date in Castlebar, County Mayo. €1 from each ticket sold will go to “Join Our Boys”, a charity set up to provide for the long-term support of the Naughton brothers, who all have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a debilitating and fatal disease.
The tour is to showcase their new album, due out later this month. We’ve already told you about Free Spirit, written by the twins, and inspired by US ice skater, Gracie Gold. We’re looking forward to the rest of the album too - with song titles like “Silent Raindrops”, “Ferocious”, “Ageless” and “Karma”, we’re both excited and intrigued at what they have in store for us!
It was two years ago that John and Edward flew to Singapore on a whim after chatting with local DJ, Gerald Koh, then known as Boy Thunder. Now it seems the Dublin Duo are yearning to return to Asia. Theyv’e tweeted a video of the album signing they did while there, prompting Gerald Koh to reveal that the pair had earlier this month messaged him to say:
Whoa…@987fm is gonna go Jepic pic.twitter.com/DwC2Ho1Xe7

John and Edward have announced two dates in October to promote their new album, which is due out later this summer.
Each show offers a Soundcheck Package, where for the first time, fans are offered the opportunity to sit in on the Dublin duo’s soundcheck, as well as participate in a 15 minute question and answer session. Also included in the package is a chance to purchase merchandise ahead of the concert.
Tickets are already on sale for their 24 October show at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, with a second concert, at Castlebar’s Royal Theatre on October 27. Tickets for that gig go on sale this Friday, 1 August.
Free Spirit, the latest single from Jedward, is available now. Watch the video for Free Spirit:
