In today’s Irish Sun it was revealed that John and Edward have been approached to walk for Jean Paul Gaultier at The Life Ball, one of the biggest AIDS events in the world, on 16 May, in Vienna, Austria. They will also be performing at a special concert in the Austrian capital the night before, also to raise money and awareness for HIV and AIDS.

It’s exciting news in the leadup to Eurovision, which commences a few days later. The Eurovision Song Contest commemorates its 60th Anniversary this year.

And finally - a Vine:

John and Edward responded with a tweet of their own:

So - one down, two to go! We wait with bated breath (or, given Perez’s Sharknado2-inspired shirt, baited) to see if Ms Reid and Mr Shatner likewise come through!

Do you have your tickets yet for John and Edward’s Irish tour next month? If not, then you’d best hurry!  The Irish popstar twins have just about sold out their DublinandDrogheda concerts, with limited tickets remaining for their date in Castlebar, County Mayo.  €1 from each ticket sold will go to “Join Our Boys”, a charity set up to provide for the long-term support of the Naughton brothers, who all have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a debilitating and fatal disease.

The tour is to showcase their new album, due out later this month.  We’ve already told you about Free Spirit, written by the twins, and inspired by US ice skater, Gracie Gold.  We’re looking forward to the rest of the album too - with song titles like “Silent Raindrops”, “Ferocious”, “Ageless” and “Karma”, we’re both excited and intrigued at what they have in store for us!

It was two years ago that John and Edward flew to Singapore on a whim after chatting with local DJ, Gerald Koh, then known as Boy Thunder.  Now it seems the Dublin Duo are yearning to return to Asia.  Theyv’e tweeted a video of the album signing they did while there, prompting Gerald Koh to reveal that the pair had earlier this month messaged him to say:

With a new album on the way, is Singapore on the intinerary of their promotional tour?

Stage names in the entertainment business aren’t a new thing, but you might be surprised at the number of people in music who perform under a name they weren’t necessarily born with.

For instance, you probably already know that Lady Gaga was born Stefani Germanotta, and P!nk’s real name is Alecia Hart, but do you know what Lorde’s real name is?

John and Edward Grimes, who themselves are better known by their stage name, “Jedward”, were evidently pondering this last night when they tweeted about stage names:

They tweeted about Jay Z (real name Shawn Corey Carter), Niki Minaj (born Onika Miraj), and Iggy Azalea, who before she renamed herself after the street she grew up on and her dog…was known by the equally spectacular Amethyst Amelia Kelly.

Oh! And in case you’re wondering about Lorde’s real name?

Who knew?

John and Edward are preparing to release their fourth album late next month. The lead track, Free Spirit, is available on iTunes.  The twins will be promoting their new album later in the year, starting with a 3 date Irish tour in Dublin,Drogheda, and Castlebar.

Watch Free Spirit here:

John and Edward showed the North-West of England what they’re made of in an energetic performance at the Total Access Livefestival.

Singing three songs, the Dublin Duo were the highlight of the show with many festival-goers tweeting about how good they were.  Free Spirit is a bit of a radio hit in the Staffordshire area, so it’s no surprise it was a crowd favourite on Saturday.

Hopefully the twins will perform at a few more festivals this summer, in the lead up to the release of their fourth album, in September.  Tickets are now available for their Irish concerts in October.

TRTE has a great competition over on their Facebook page - all you have to do to win a t-shirt signed by John and Edward is tell them what your favourite Jedward song is!

John and Edward have announced two dates in October to promote their new album, which is due out later this summer.

Each show offers a Soundcheck Package, where for the first time, fans are offered the opportunity to sit in on the Dublin duo’s soundcheck, as well as participate in a 15 minute question and answer session.  Also included in the package is a chance to purchase merchandise ahead of the concert.

Tickets are already on sale for their 24 October show at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, with  a second concert, at Castlebar’s Royal Theatre on October 27.  Tickets for that gig go on sale this Friday, 1 August.

Free Spirit, the latest single from Jedward, is available now.  Watch the video for Free Spirit:

It had been forecast to rain when John and Edward hit the Guilfest stage on the afternoon of Saturday 19 July.  Instead, it was one of the hottest and stickiest days of the summer so far, when the Dublin twins played to hundreds at what has been voted UK’s best family music festival.

Crowds raced over from the main stage to stage 2 to hear the twins perform, and they weren’t disappointed.  Jedward hit the ground running, singing a mix of their own songs and covers, including Free Spirit, which they have written and produced themselves.

Free Spirit is the first from the twins’ as-yet unnamed album, due to be released later this summer.  To promote the album, John and Edward have announced concert dates in Ireland, starting with Dublin on October 24, and Castlebar on the 27th.  Tickets for Dublin’s Olympia Theatre gig will be available on Friday 25 July from Ticketmaster.

John and Edward have been in the news a lot these past few weeks. Two weeks ago they launched the music video for their hot new single, “Free Spirit”.  The video, like most of their music videos over the past two years, was made and edited by the twins themselves, and has met with critical acclaim from all over the world.  Shot in Ireland and Italy, the video complements the song perfectly, using fresh and free scenery…and not to mention smouldering looks from the twins themselves!

Prior to their video launch, the twins had been making headlines for all the wrong reasons, having had a close shave at Malahide Beach, County Dublin, where they had been stranded by rising tides.  The Skerries Coast Guard rescued the twins, who had been on a beach walk with their young cousin.  John and Edward visited the Skerries heroes late last week for a reunion with those who had quite literally, it emerges, saved their lives.

The twins presented two awards at Dublin radio station 98fm’s “Best of Dublin” Awards, giving out two prizes - “Best Barber/Hairdresser”, which went to Pose and Pout, of Blanchardstown, and “Best Restaurant”, going to Roast, in Ballsbridge

On Saturday however, they shall be a headlining act at this year’s Guilfest, in Guildford, Surrey, UK.  Jedward fans are flying in from all over to catch the performance of the Duo, their first live gig since their smash performance at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, back in April.

Tickets are still available for Guilfest.  Free Spirit is available on iTunes.
