When Kyoko imagined a relationship with Sho, it was all fantasy-based with princes and princesses, horse-drawn carriages and fairy godmothers because that’s all she knew a relationship with him would be: a fantasy. Why bother entertaining something you know you’ll never have? If she’s gonna have to deal with this crush, she might as well create it to her liking: mystical and distanced.
With Ren, it’s a total one-eighty. She imagines them holding hands, what his would feel as they engulf her own. Imagines him in sweats and a t-shirt half asleep with bed head and a 5 o clock beard stumbling to the kitchen. Imagines waking up to the smell of burning eggs and watching him become adorably frustrated as he tries to figure out how to cook bacon. Imagines getting him to eat three full meals as he pouts or him making her sit on the couch pouting while he cleans. Imagines both of them laying on the couch/bed watching movies with his head on her stomach as she runs her fingers thru his hair sometimes their positions are vice versa. Sometimes they lay in silence taking in one another because the day was just tiring, physically or mentally or both, no words needed because they already understand or know the other will wait.
