The “Vintage Label” has the most clean, minimalist design.

Momotaro’s “classic straight” denim fit is roomy in the top block, has a medium high rise, and has a slight gradual taper down the leg towards the leg opening. The fabric is custom designed by Rampuya denim mill exclusively for the Momotaro label. It is a deep blue pure indigo 15.7oz selvedge using super-dense 6s yarn Zimbabwe cotton. The fabric is shrink-to-fit, thus the denim will need to be soaked to confirm all shrinkage has settled…

The Momotaro Copper Label series features copper accent hardware and a 14.7oz weight selvedge which is slightly lighter compared to the other Momotaro denim series. What makes this model special is the indigo used: lighter shades of indigo which are more vintage inspired.

The fabric is a 14.7oz selvedge made with 100% Zimbabwe cotton and rope dyed to an old blue indigo. The fabric has a hairy surface and a good amount of slub and tremendous character. The denim is a one wash (washed one time using sea water from Okayama coast). The Copper Label features the custom engraved copper buttons and rivets used throughout, 1/8" thick cowhide leather patch branded with the Momotaro “Japan Blue” logo, heavy duty flannel pocket bags dyed in pure indigo, the back yolk is lined with flannel material dyed in natural indigo.

The Momotaro MS195 Vintage Oxford “Jail Pocket” work shirt is inspired by World War II prison uniforms featuring the large vertical front chest pockets that are deep and easy to conceal items. Other features include the rounded collar with chin strap, bronze anodized buttons, full button down with a hidden ½ placket, and a slim fit through the body.

Momotaro “Going to Battle” jacket model 2105SP is made of 15.7oz selvage fabric. Of course100% Zimbabwe cotton is used!

The fabric is custom designed by Rampuya exclusively for the Momotaro label. It is a deep blue pure indigo 15.7oz selvedge using super-dense 6s yarn Zimbabwe cotton. The fabric has been soaked in sea water from the Okayama coast, so it is pre-shrunk and ready-to-wear.

Pink selvedge details can be seen along the interior placket. The pink selvedge is one of the common features of Momotaro denim. The pink (peach) color has come to represent both the region of Okayama (which is known for peaches) and the peach from the Japanese folklore story of “Momotaro”.

The “Going to Battle” stripes are a symbol of Japanese tradition representing honor and strength.
