Sorry for shit lighting,, it’s like midnight here. But yes here is the thing! (@corvuscrowned@ilovechristopheralexandershaw) I needed help to pick colours for the finishing touch to the art of my bedroom wall,, iirc I posted a WIP of it before. I had already got an idea yesterday of what would complete it, but I couldn’t figure out all the colours to pick. Thank you to @curlyy-hair-dont-care@ladderofyears@thesleepiesthufflepuff@iero0 @steadyharrypotteronfood for your suggestions ❤️ Here’s the addition I made just now based on them:

Ancient Arts of Origami and Kirigami Inspire Mechanical Metamaterials

Origami- and kirigami-based metamaterials have applications from robotics to medical devices.

The ancient arts of origami, the art of paper-folding, and kirigami, the art of paper-cutting, have gained popularity in recent years among researchers building mechanical metamaterials. Folding and cutting 2D thin-film materials transforms them into complex 3D structures and shapes with unique and programmable mechanical properties.

In Applied Physics Reviews, by AIP Publishing, researchers in the United States and China categorize origami- and kirigami-based mechanical metamaterials, artificially engineered materials with unusual mechanical properties, into six groups based on two different criteria.

“Origami and kirigami are, by nature, mechanical metamaterials, because their properties are mainly determined by how the crease patterns and/or cuts are made and just slightly depend on the material that folds the origami or kiragami,” said author Hanqing Jiang.

Self-folding origami: Chemical programming allows Nafion sheets to fold and refold

Plastic with a thousand faces: A single piece of Nafion foil makes it possible to produce a broad palette of complex 3D structures. In the journal Angewandte Chemie, researchers describe how they use simple chemical “programming” to induce the foil to fold itself using origami and kirigami principles. These folds can be repeatedly “erased” and the foil can be “reprogrammed”.

We have all seen the cranes and lotus flowers produced from a sheet of paper by practiced hands. Origami is the traditional Japanese art of folding that transforms paper into complex three-dimensional structures without the use of adhesive. Kirigami is a related technique in which the paper is strategically cut before folding. Both of these techniques have found application in modern technology.

Adebola Oyefusi and Jian Chen from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (USA) have now presented a new variation on this technique. They chemically “programmed” Nafion foil so that heat causes it to fold itself into complex three-dimensional forms. The foil can also be “deprogrammed”. Nafion is a polymer that can “remember” its shape, so that a stretched piece of foil will return to its initial form upon heating.

Sometimes we would have a few nightmares so we would like something just to make us feel a little better

You will need: A purple or yellow piece of origami paper (or just square paper) , (you can have these other items but they arn’t required for the spell) lavender oil or peppermint oil , a yellow or purple candle . some incense

First begin by taking your paper and making a bird (it can be a dove or a crane or a heron or a humming bird its up to you) when your done hold your hands over the creation and say mentally or outloud:

“When i lay my head down to sleep may dreams of sweetness and kindness begin to come about may i be protected while i sleep and when i wake up with harm to none blessed be”

if you have any of those oils you can put it on there if you like

Feel free to alter this as much as you want have fun -garden

“Legacy of the Crane”

Very different style and subject matter from my newer work, but still kind of like this one for what it is. Inspired by a LOT of golden paper cranes my girlfriend gifted me back then!
