Drama Journal #3

Before I start this review/journal, I want to say that I went through the same frustration that most of you probably felt during this entire show.  After I got past the frustration, I realized how great of a show Proposal Daisakusen really is.  So with that said, I want to talk about some of the best features that Proposal Daisakusen had throughout the course of the 11+ episodes (including the special).

Proposal Daisakusen is a story about Iwase Ken and his journey back in time to change the outcome of his freindship/relationship with Yoshida Rei.  Iwase Ken is played by Yamashita Tomohisa (YamaP) and Yoshida Rei is played by Nagasawa Masami, who are both stars in the acting industry in Japan.  The show also featured the likes of Eikura Nana, Fujiki Naohito, Hamada Gaku, and Hiraoka Yuta.  Its safe to say that the cast is pretty stacked, maybe not compared to some other shows, but I still believe that it is.

Anyways, I’m going to jump into what I really liked about the show now!  In my opinion, the greatest feature of this show was the development that was seen in every single episode.  Yes, I understand that Iwase Ken can end the story at episode 1 by simply confessing his love to Rei, but that’s not the point!  The point is that there is development in each character episode after episode.  Whether it be a big jump or a small step toward a changed future, there is constant development and change through the actions that Ken takes by jumping to the past.  Sometimes these changes are obvious, but other times they are slight changes that are barely noticeable (look out for them if you’re going to watch it).  The journey that Ken and Rei take together from grade school to adulthood is one that is worth watching and is something that we should all aspire for.  I don’t want to spoil anything else for anyone else, but all I can say is that I truly 100% recommend this show to everyone.
