Study group invitation!
Hi, friends! It’s been a while! Just came in to say how happy I am that this community is still thriving!
With everything going on around the world, I know it’s been hard to focus. I want to share this online study group that has been a huge help to me for the past 6+ months that we’ve been studying together. I figured I’d pay it forward by inviting more studious brains over!
[ What it is ]
It’s a study group which started early this year over on Jitsi, which is akin to Zoom, but the room stays open 24/7. However, for security reasons, we migrated to JumpInChat, which is still pretty neat! We come from all over the world, from different time zones, in different fields of study, so there’s almost always someone in the room to study with you!
[ What we do ]
We usually do pomodoro sessions together via Forest or Cuckoo. Some like to share their screen, cam, or a combination of both for some accountability. Or if you’re a little shy, you can also just connect and study with us. You do you!
[Why we do it]
For some of us, studying alone can be a daunting task, especially if you’re stuck at home with all the distractions. Being in the presence of other people can help you focus if you get distracted a lot. And if you’re like me, always in need of company when studying but can’t study in the library or at the nearby café for one reason or another, come join us at Study Beasts and get productive with us!

I’m about 4 months away from my graduation from med school. Junior internship has been taking over my life and this is the first time I got to actually sit down in a cafe and actually study while not in the hospital. If you have any questions about med school or internship, hit me up and I’ll try to answer them as best as I can!

It’s the 100th day of the year today! I had exams last week so I hardly had any time to touch my planner and journal. Thank goodness for brush lettering and stickers to make my pages less dull.

I’ve been quite preoccupied lately (what’s new?) so here’s an old spread from a couple of weeks ago, featuring some happy stuff from my first race for the year. Looking forward to my next one soon! But first, I have to get through exam week. I hope you are all well! ✨

It’s Christmas so I’m not studying, but still writing (mostly in my journal and planner). So instead of notes, here’s my almost-daily carry: a Traveler’s Notebook Passport (which also doubles as my wallet), a Pilot Decimo (my absolute favorite fountain pen), and a Tools to Liveby tote bag.

I haven’t really been updating in a while. Finally done with my first semester of third year med! I’m on my last vacation ever so I’ve been pretty busy, but the good kind of busy. I hope everyone’s having a productive December!

We’ve had so many holidays these past few Mondays that I’m not used to Monday classes anymore. Today’s not particularly good either, but that’s the thing about med school—you gotta suck it up and keep moving forward because there are bigger problems for the next day.

Officially the last day of summer! Working on my calligraphy before everything gets too busy with med. I hope I can still find the time to sneak some writing in the chaos of studying.

It’s been a while! Haven’t been posting much because I’m still on vacation for 3 more weeks, but hello again! I decided to break my silence since a certain anon asked me about my fountain pens. I still have a couple more in storage, but right now, these are the ones I have in rotation. They’re nothing fancy, but I love them still. I used a Zig Cocoiro Letter Pen in extra fine for the brush lettering on top.

Most days, I don’t really know what I’m doing. But as my man, @neil-gaiman, once said, “When things get tough, this is what you should do—make good art.”
I love med school (well, most days), but it gets exhausting. So I’m grateful I have the opportunity to take a break and do other things that I love.

Sometimes I sketch and journal to take a break from studying med.
