Beginning with Volume 9, the Tankoban included “Individual Ability Stat” charts for the Class E kids, 3 per Volume. This is different from the “Assassination Aptitude” charts that came with the profiles in the databook.

So here are the charts released between Volumes 9 and 12. (These didn’t resume untilVolume 14) The Abilities, rated from 0 to 5, starting from the top and going clockwise are:

  • Physical Ability (体力, includes strength, endurance, stamine, etc.)
  • Mobility (機動力)
  • Close Quarters Assassination (近接暗殺)
  • Long Distance Assassination (遠距離暗殺)
  • Academic prowess (学力, ie ability to think, learn and acquire knowledge)
  • Characteristic Skill (固有スキル)

The Characteristic Skill for these 12 are as follows:

  1. Akabane Karma: Fighting
  2. Isogai Yuuma: All-purpose Adaptability
  3. Okajima Taiga: Photography
  4. Okano Hinata: Four-dimensional Lethal Strikes
  5. Okuda Manami: Chemistry Knowledge
  6. Kataoka Megu: Leadership
  7. Kayano Kaede: Sweets Artisan
  8. Kanzaki Yukiko: Game Master
  9. Kimura Justice: Great Runner (Idaten)
  10. Kurahashi Hinano: Biology Knowledge
  11. ShiotaNagisa: Anti-personnel Assassination
  12. Sugaya Sousuke: Art in general

Some notes:

  • Isogai’s basically means he can adjust to anything
  • Okano’s is basically attacking from anywhere, all sides
  • Personal opinion - if we get a chart for Akari, it’s “Acting” 5/5 for sure
  • Kimura’s is written as “Idaten”, and this term is associated with “great runner” because Idaten is a Japanese folk figure who is known to be speedy

P.S. Included in this post is a hiddenmessage. Can you see it?

If anyone can suggest another manga/anime case where being pretty is problematic, please do tell, I am curious.

Main credits go to a certain Baidu forumer for translating the profiles from the Roll Book Time Databook to a language I understand.
In accordance with her wish, her screenshots from the book will not be copied elsewhere, so refer to the following link to see extracts of Kanzaki’s profile:

And because this is a Japanese -> Chinese -> English translation, while I have endeavoured to keep things as accurate as possible, not everything may be successfully conveyed across

Kanzaki Yukiko

E-8 Kanzaki Yukiko (神崎 有希子) – one who has deserted the burdens of her past; the Madonna of Class E

“What’s important is to face your future and continuously move forward”

Description

  • A girl with great popularity among the Class E boys, but for some reason all the boys who approach her are awful. On the Field Trip, she matures after learning not to worry about how other people see her, as what’s important is to continuously move forward.

Code Name: Master Kanzaki (神崎名人/ Kanzaki Meijin), Takebayashi’s idea

When the class was staying at the Ryokan for the Field Trip, Takebayashi unwittingly had a glance at the arcade. There, he saw a shocking 16 shots per second on the score board. This must be the work of a legendary master.

(TN: I don’t play much arcade rail shooters, so is a 16 Combo that amazing?)

  • Birthday: March 3rd
  • Height: 159cm
  • Weight: 46kg
  • Bust Size: B
  • Blood Type: A
  • Favourite Subject: Ancient Literature
  • Worst Subject: Chemistry
  • Interests and special skills: Computer games in general
  • Past Club: the Ikebana Club (Japanese flower arrangement)
  • Treasured Item(s): a copy of Gradius
  • Favourite Food: Wagashi (a traditional Japanese confectionery)
  • Bento or Snacks: Bento
  • Election Headline (from the 1st Popularity Poll): Aim for 17 shots per second!!

(TN: huge thanks to @tsunce, lots of things about Kanzaki’s gamer-oriented details were clarified.
Kanzaki’s code name “Master Kanzaki” is a reference to Takahashi Toshiyuki, also known as Master Takahashi (“Takahashi Meijin”). Among other things, Takahashi was a famous gamer in the 80’s with a finger speed of 16 button presses per second, more often known as the “16 shots per second” in shooting games like Star Force. This is what Takebayashi alludes to in his reasoning, that Kanzaki is on the level of a legend.
Her Election Headline is likewise a reference to Takahashi, declaring that she pretty much wants to be the very best gamer.
Lastly, “Meijin” here is a callback to what the Japanese called the “Famicom Masters” in the 80’s, with Takahashi being one of the most renowned. It doesn’t have to do with Go or Shogi.

From Korosensei, Announcement of Results from the Periodic Exams (Main 5 subjects) (credits to madsamuneflaaffies)

As one who took 2nd place in Japanese within her grade (during the 1st Trimester Finals), Kanzaki has outstanding skill in both writing and comprehension. And (having) linguistic competence is fundamental for all subjects. Perhaps her next challenge should focus more on logical subjects like maths and science.

Karasuma’s Assassination Aptitude (graded on a scale of 6)

Unexpectedly placed 5th among the girls in June’s marksmanship test, her shooting skills are remarkable. Although she takes up a support role who polishes up plans to be more daring, he would like her to be more involved in the assassination.

  • Strategy/Planning: 4
  • Commanding/Leadership: 2
  • Execution (Ability to carry out plans): 3
  • Technique (Traps, weapons, preparations, etc): 3
  • Scouting/Intelligence Gathering: 3
  • Politics/Negotiations: 4

B*tch-sensei’s Fashion Check (credits to young-il-long-kiyoshi)

Whether it be her school uniform or street clothes, Yukiko is conscious about wearing neat and clean-type clothes. If it were me I would wear them with a little more ‘allowance’ (flexibility). Overall it gives a good feeling, but why not show off more of your legs? It’s a waste otherwise.

School Uniform

In both summer and winter she wears her black tights stylishly. Her good looks, the uniform, and her black tights are a combo that is almost unfair. (ie So good it isn’t fair)

Street Clothes

Tidy and girly is Kanzaki’s style. The black tights are a must-have item with her street clothes as well.

Character Relationships

- Shiota Nagisa (addressed as Nagisa-kun) -

She’s the kind who has a lot of opinion but doesn’t readily express them, and Nagisa had noticed this yet doesn’t mind it very much. She finds that if she’s around him she feels comfortable.

- Sugino Tomohito (addressed as Sugino-kun) -

Has a nice personality and good at sports, he’s really concerned about her, will step forward no matter what the situation is, he’s a classmate friend who’s trustworthy and great to get along with.

- Okano Hinata (addressed as Okano-san) -

Kanzaki wonders if Okano doesn’t like her, and although they’ve gotten closer after some effort, they still can’t see eye to eye.

- Sakakibara Ren (addressed as Sakaki-kun) -

Between Sakakibara once inviting her to be his maid and some perverted brats clinging to her at the daycare, Kanzaki’s fortune with men is truly horrible…

- Kayano Kaede (addressed as Kayano-san) -

The only one in Class E who knows about Kanzaki’s past. Seeing as she doesn’t seem to mind it at all, Kanzaki feels some gratitude towards Kayano for the good relationship they have.

- Okuda Manami (addressed as Okuda-san) -

A companion who is also not-so-assertive and comparatively mature, they have a peaceful relationship. They often standby from afar together.

- Mimura Kouki (addressed as Mimura-kun) -

He doesn’t know from when he started taking notice of Kanzaki, recently he heard a rumour that she now has a new favourite online game and seems to have started playing it himself without talking to her about it.

Matsui-sensei’s Exclusive Behind the Scenes Data

  • She grew up under the strict supervision of her lawyer father. Her father being as busy as he was, even when his mother, Yukiko’s grandmother, fell ill, work was still the only thing on his mind. So Yukiko was the one who took care of her until the end, and because her grandmother’s (parting?) face of gratitude at the time was unforgettable, she became aspired to become a domestic caretaker for the elderly

  • “Thank you so much Yukiko … please use my private savings to buy a game machine.” Perhaps it can be said that her grandmother was the culprit behind everything.

During the Field Trip arc, Korosensei wrote 26 copies of a guidebook, one for each student, spanning 1344 pages. When Roll Book Time was published, Matsui Yuusei also wrote an extract of this Guidebook as a bonus gift of sorts.

(In addition, if he included the whole guidebook, the whole package will become very, very expensive)

This post will outline the basic gist of each page so that you can have a general idea of what they’re about, as well as the overall tone of the book.

But if you want to ask about certain bits of the pages, you are free to do so via this

Click here to see extracts of the Guidebook extracts

Kyoto Field Trip Guidebook ~ Table of Contents (2) (Pg 4 – 5)

The page on the right shows a directory for:

  • Tokyo dialect to Kyoto dialect
  • What to say when you greet someone
  • What to say when you look at (sample?) food
  • Phrases to use when you’re touring, shopping and visiting a Maid Café

The page on the left shows a directory of temples and shrines in Kyoto

Various things to watch out for during the Field Trip (Pg 38)

#41 – Yatsuhashi are available to sample, but be careful not to eat too much

#42 - There are lots of temples, but there’s a limit to how many you can visit in a day. If you focus on just one area, you can visit 4-6 places, if you go to separate areas you can only visit 2-3 places. (Octopus: Nuruhuhuhu, Sensei can visit 1000 places)

#43 – At large intersections there will be lots of buses with the same route number. If you are unsure, please ask someone at the bus station

#44 – When asking locals for directions they will say things like “go up” (agaru) and “go down” (sagaru). “Go up” means “head North” and “go down” means “head South”

#45 – When all is said and done, Free Time is meant to be time spent touring within Kyoto. Although that theme park in Osaka is only 50 minutes away, please don’t dilly-dally for too long. (Octopus: It is Free Time within Kyoto)

Map 1 – the city of Kyoto, public transport routes included (Pg 78 – 79)

The bottom left even has a table for “Sensei’s travel times from Kyoto Station” (to different locations, at Mach 20, furthest location requires 2.5 seconds)

  • Bottom-left octopus: Sensei only needs about 20 seconds to circle all the locations. If anything happens I will come straight away, so please call me

Map 2 – Famous locales of assassination within Kyoto City (Pg 112 – 113)

Kyoto is a place famous for its assassinations. Check out the big name assassinations, then let’s make use of those in your assassination plans.

  • Bottom-right octopus: Bakumatsu-era Kyoto featured a large variety of assassination methods
  • Bottom-left octopus: The history of Kyoto makes a great reference book

Opportune Assassination Places in Kyoto City (1) (Pg 264, 287)

Consider the characteristics of each location, so that you can decide on how to have fun and how to kill.

  • These are all the spots that Class E visited obviously (makes you wonder if the Guidebook is what they decided the spots with)
  • When your classmate gets abducted –> 1243

Let’s enjoy Kyoto ~ Personal Experience ~ (Pg 454, 461)

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and a personal experience is better still. You can only personally experience something at the place itself, so take the chance to learn more about the culture.

  • Experiences listed include cosplays, candy-making, tea ceremonies, Taiko drumming and Kabuki transformation, among others
  • If you played too much and your wallet only has 2000 Yen left –> 1242

An Introduction to Ryokan (Japanese Inn) Recreation (Pg 624, 629)

Use of Ryokan Facilities – explains:

  • The retro game arcade (most likely the one Kanzaki played),
  • Table tennis (Korosensei teases that he can play double matches against himself at Mach speed), and
  • The bathhouse (things you’re not allowed to do include swimming, checking/comparing physiques and peeping, which goes for the girls too)

Things you can do in the rooms (3)

  • Pillow fights (For complete tactics on pillow fights and examples of field correspondence –> 693)
  • Sharing Love Stories - A Sensei Recommendation! (Ironic considering he didn’t share his)

Recommended Spots during Free Time (Pg 936, 959)

Korosensei’s recommendations for if you want to:

  • Sightsee
  • Get acquainted with Kyoto
  • Look at where couples hang out
  • Try your hands at matchmaking (Enmusubi), etc.

Recommended Kyoto Souvenirs (Pg 1206, 1213)

Recommendations include food and other goods

  • Bottom-right octopus: Buy something after you have thought about what happens when you return home! (ie think before you buy)
  • Bottom-left octopus: Don’t forget about souvenirs for Sensei!

And that’s all the pages. Man, Eyeball-sensei is absolutely ridiculous when it comes to the most trivial and minute details, but in a good way

Just wanted to see if Kanzaki could also pull off other bright coloured hair streaks aside from the blue one

And she definitely can

maeiso-trash:

hc that Kanzaki’s father made her play the koto (筝) (a Japanese plucked half-tube zither based on the Chinese zhēng or gǔzhēng (古筝), plucked zither) and she played it seriously for a while to comply to her father’s wishes until she embraced her rebellious side and began playing video game soundtracks on it instead

Just throwing this here
