I’m pleasantly surprised and honoured to be awarded the Ruth Rendell award for services to literacy
I had no idea I was up for this award but I’m told many teachers, librarians all over the country put my name forward for this!
I’m thankful!
Self-reflection is so important. Examine how you’ve come to stances you have.
I say this because sometimes people say wild things and I’m like “you didn’t think that through did you?”
I mean we’re all human but damn!
Brand new visualiser. Check out “Glide Through” taken from the mixtape “Who Are You Too?” available on all streaming services here: http://smarturl.it/WhoAreYouToo

This is called “As we always do” and it’s my attempt to do something influenced by the broken beat sound from West London. I’ve been listening to bugz in the attic and 4hero!
Over time being a hip hop artist and poet that is now an author, I have worked in a lot of different areas and there are certain areas that face certain struggles and issues.
I wrote this track called “Safe” thinking about a lot of the young people I talk to in these areas especially heading home, I always hope they are safe. It’s mad because I might meet some of you only once but I do remember you and always hope you are safe and well.
So I was watching “Drumline” which stars Nick Cannon during the lockdown a few weeks back which led me to looking up lots of marching bands on YouTube as well as rap songs that had those kinds of beats influenced by the sounds of College marching bands and since I loved Beyoncé’s coachella performance that had a whole HBCU theme and marching band sound, I knew I had to try and make a beat which sounded like all of what I was hearing. This became “Get The W”
No matter what is going on in this world, keep pressing on and celebrate even the small wins you get!
smart casual (lyric video)
I have people who always ask me to do a traditional boom bap lyrical hip hop kind of track. I think all my songs are lyrical just not with this sound. I made this for people who want me to do that kind of sound. I can still do it! It’s just that I like experimenting and trying to push myself to try different things!
Earlier on in the year before the lockdown, the national poetry day asked me to write something on the theme they had for 2020 which is “vision: see it like a poet” so wrote and recorded this at home.
I feel like if I had done this now after everything in the world had gone crazy it would be different but I still love this and stand by it!

Statement of Intent (Live from my home)
Welcome to my Home Live Sessions. I wasn’t gonna start with this one but the way this week went, I’ve been feeling kinda down, this was something I wrote for a time like this. It’s on the best album I think I’ve done “For Such A Time As This” (2017) turn this up and enjoy. Next video, next Friday. If there’s any track of mine that you would like me to do, let me know. It doesn’t matter which one, I might just do it.
